I was on board until the instant I saw that electro-blade. IT'S NOT LIKE NO ONE CAN SEE WHERE YOU GOT THE "INSPIRATION" FOR THAT ONE.
Looks pretty sharp, now if only they could animate the faces on those two.....

Surely this whole zombie fad is over by now? They were interesting back in the 90s when Resident Evil came out, but it's hard to believe they're STILL being pushed relentlessly in games and films.

Where did you hear that? i recall reading somewhere that there are gonna be guns, but not that many guns, you're gonna have to use your surroundings more.

That's all fine and dandy m8 but no one has really made a proper Z game along the lines of Romero say. We need a game where it's similar to Fallout 3 or Just Cause 2 with added elements on finding new places to live, food to eat and weapons to find.

I bet some Ukranian developer would love to make that ;)

Zombies as a game mechanic that just keep coming at you is over used and abused. That does need to stop. They need to either scare you shitless and\or have main characters you care about within a story. A recent interview i saw on youtube sugests this was the main focus of the developers. :)

which can pretty much be said for every FPS made in the last 10 years. zombies are a recent popular trend, and there is yet a game out there that can truly bring out the pure awesomeness of the zombie setting. so i really hope more zombie games come out. besides, its not like any of the developers who been making these games are really well known or come out with top selling games, so whats the harm in making them?

The game was funny as fuck, on CoOp it was fantastic
And a lot of it was borderline racist, and as long as you got "black" humor it was hilarious
*tribal guy jumps out first one you see on the level, blink of a eye back of head is on floor, with out even taking anything in chris goes*
"there all infected"
sorry but me and my mate had to pause the game for at least 2 hours after that, it was just fucking hilarious
Resident Evil 5 is to games what Team America was to movies.. pure underated genius.

Mmmmmm, zombie in a bikini...

I hope this is a GTA style free-roam, and not "you're stuck till you get this piece of motorbike after doing lots of other challenges which you have to do in a certain time" pish.

An American game without guns? Surely you jest! This is nothing but an attempt to cash in on the success of Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead. The main difference is that marketing isn't afraid to kill a few kids to get people talking about the game.

Right, it had nothing to do with the devs wanting to make it, they just wanted to cash in on the gut-busting sales of zombie games. As if games in other Genres don't sell well. Money and Sales appeal is no doubt a motivator, but I'm sure the dev likes making the game...

I know. It's like they decided to combine L4D and Dead Rising and stick it on a tropical island. If there was any doubt that the emotional trailer was just for marketing, it vanished when I saw "electroblade". Combining a battery and a sword? Really?

Anyway, I love the lack of firearms and the RPG elements, and personally, I think the graphics are stunning if they look like that on consoles. I can't believe people are complaining about the graphics here. This is an open world zombie game, and I think it looks better than any linear one I have seen. If they can nail the physics and make the combat feel good, this could be the zombie game of the year for me! (it's pretty bad that zombie game is pretty much becoming a genre now).
