Borderlands had completely disappeared since the Game Convention last August where it was already quite an impressive game thanks to its huge weapon variety. And now, one month from E3 it's back with a brand new art style, quite a bit like Crackdown's but more detailed. Let's hope for a new trailer soon!

Hopefully the game is as good as the visuals.
Ontopic, the game's looking pretty good. Just need to see some actual gameplay and some cool environments...
I personally love the way this game is shaping up, but I still think it will fail at retail because the style is an acquired taste, and most of the people buying games nowadays are tasteless morons.

as for games like XIII, it wasnt exactly a raved about title. and got pretty average reviews (even though i personally enjoyed it) THAT is what alienated people, not the artstyle. same goes for afro samurai, the game being average is what killed it's appeal, not the fact it looked like a moving cartoon.
as for crackdown, that game did very well sales wise (but then it had the halo 3 beta attatched to it) but those that played it generally enjoyed it anyway.
in terms of borderlands, the thing which is going to make or break the game is the quality of the GAME. and so far i really dont know what to think about that aspect of it....BUT, in terms of the art style, i love it. the game wasnt even on my radar before, but now it looks great, just like POP, crackdown and afro.
God awful.
But to this day the game has had decent legs, because it replaces the dissapontment people have with the lacking of "genuine fun" in ALL sandbox games this generation.
from the shot used for the header of this game I though "meh, another one of these soulless shooters", but the new art direction totally put this game on my radar
