PS3

We spotted a big bunch of new Metal Gear Solid 4 screenshots over our friends at Jeuxvideo.fr, which just returned from Japan where Konami allowed them to spend three days on Hideo Kojima's baby. Along with a full blown preview, they confirm that the game will get a worldwide launch on June, 12th. Rendez-vous taken !

Is the first image 100 % ingame? Or will the game look like pic 12 ?

while I truly admire all the hard work that went into creating the characters I feel the environment suffers from a lack of atmosphere. It look too clean and sterile... ground textures are bland... let's hope that the size of this game makes up for this. And I hope that not most of the space on the Bluray is taken up by all the cut-scenes... because that would be another mistake!

I often found the pacing in past MGS to be interupted by overly long cut-scenes!

And yes, there's a clear difference between pic 1 and 12. Therefore pic 1 is NOT ingame!

Hm, some screens look superb, some others look decent... wtf?
It looks very good, and I'm quite shure I'll get it.
The chicken thing is quite disturbing *lol*

Complain more. And MGS has always used 100% real time cutscenes. If they were pre-rendered movies, MGS2 and 3 would've had to span several DVD's because there obviously aren't any compression artifacts (and you can even pan/zoom the camera). Any difference in graphics quality is due to different character models being used.

Ownage aside, I gotta say I'm always on the verge of creaming myself when new MGS4 footage drops. I absolutely HATE this word, but if there's one game deserving of it, it's MGS4. The word is epic. Done pre-ordered my copy and just waiting for the Beta disc now.

I deleted the old images and added more new ones. As for the quality, some are captured direct-feed and others seem captured with an analog device.

Thanks Snoopers, great screenshots.
The tank looks awesome, I really love how this game seems to capture the feeling of a warzone.

I believe that this middle Eastern based stage is going to be similar to MGS2's tanker level in that it plays little to no significance in the grand scale of things. Once it ends I reckon that game will start proper with the younger Snake we are familiar with coming under the players control.

cant be the case since old snake is shown in metal gear rex in the TGS 07 trailer. snake is old, your just gonna have to deal with that.

Kojima assures us this isn't the case, but I wouldn't put it past him. He pulled the exact same thing with the past two games. But I have no problem with Snake being old, especially if we can still play around with his face equipment to get rid of that damn moustache. :p Not a fan of the maths teacher look.

And in my opinion, the game still looks very bland, it doesn't excite me in the same way the other games have, and it doesn't help that we're continuing on from the over the top melodrama of the second game. It's surprising just how more ridiculous they've managed to make the story..

But still, I'll likely get it, just so I can finally see how this ends.

This has got to be the most overrated game in existence and the graphics are far from impressive by todays standards. I just don't get the excitement.

Looks great. People who don't think they look great are either incredibly biased or have been staring at Crysis for too long. I mean, c'mon. Not every game can look like Crysis. The whole battlefield atmosphere works incredibly well as that Altair Gear Solid April Fool's footage showed. As for Old Snake, it took me a while to adjust, but now that I'm used to it, it doesn't bother me anymore.

I´m not looking or thinking on crisis, but continue thinking that MGS4 don´t look as good as I spected for a MGS game on PS3. And I have seen screens and videos in HD, and in motion to... Textures mostly seems like a PS2 MGS, look at pics 14 or 20... If you don´t know the existence of a MGS game on PS3, that pics looks like a late PS2 game. By the way, I´m not saying it would be a bad game, cause a MGS game is allways great (MGS3 not at all to me), I´m only dissapointed with the graphics... very dissapointed.
The game in motion... I spected new animations but It seems I see the same animations I saw in MGS2 or 3... Snake animations and soldiers animations... Not speaking about cutscenes, where animations are impresive (great Motion capture)

Gorgeous character models and textures mixed with rather ugly interior/exterior models and textures.
Overall it looks ok but it won’t blow me away. Anyway MGS is about the story and storytelling.
