2008-02-23 04:25:11 In reply to GriftGFX (2008-02-22 05:33:30) Posted by GriftGFX Why can't you do that on the same system? You can have two profiles on the same 360.. I do it (did it) with Halo and Gears all the damn time. If your profile was present on the same memory device (or a memory card), why wouldn't that work (assuming there is local co-op)? In game, you can certainly have two live (gold) profiles logged in at the same time. the ONLY way i can see same system co-op working is if your FORCED to use a memory card. save you character, and take him round a friends house, save your data and then put him back on your HDD when you get back home. kinda faffy just to play co-op locally tbh. so if thats how they're doing it then at least local co-op is in. as for online surely its innevitable, but will you still be restricted in terms of how far you can move. considering its a story based game and considering player 2 is simply a henchmen i'd suspect so. its no good if one guy wanders off to do a quest while another does a different one entirely because then you miss story elements. seems you'll be restricted in both local and online co-op modes imo...simply to keep the narative going in the game. |

2008-02-23 04:57:58 You can totally have two LIVE profiles on the same Xbox. You can totally sign in two live gold accounts in Halo 3 (or Gears, or a bunch of other XBL titles) and play split screen with your account on a buddies Xbox. Increasing your stats, accessing your friends list, using a headset. This limitation is completely imaginary.. 'cause it works quite well with existing titles. you cant do it, you can have a second profile as a sort of guest but thats it. take halo 3 for example. if im round a friends i can jump in and play split screen online, but i cant sign in to increase my stats. it doesnt let you, you have to be some generic guest instead. |

2008-02-23 04:58:34 Me and my friend played Rock Band and The Simpsons co-op, and we were both signed in and earned achievements. It was just as if we were playing separate games. It's definitely possible. And we were both signed onto live while the 360 was on. Our friends would pop online, send us messages, etc. It works. --- |

2008-02-23 06:04:34 In reply to KORNdog (2008-02-23 05:32:05) Posted by KORNdog i have never gotten it to work then if thats the case. i've tried to add my own gamertag to my friends profile list only for it to be denied. im ALWAYS forced to sign in as the generic, no stats, guest. so in halo im always going by my friends gamertag with a (1) at the end (i think its like that, not played halo 3 since it came out) how exactly do you get 2 live accounts working on the same system? It definitely works in Halo.. and Gears at least. According to Phaethon it works w/ Rock Band and The Simpsons as well. You can increase your stats, earn gamerscore.. whatever. I almost always recover my account when I go play Halo at a friend's house, since it's the only way it will let you use VOIP. |

2008-02-23 06:20:13 In reply to GriftGFX (2008-02-23 06:04:34) Posted by GriftGFX You go to the account recovery option on the dashboard to retrieve your gamertag, and then you log in once you're in Halo (or Gears of War or whatever) on the second controller. When you "hit A to join" or whatever the in game dashboard thing opens up and lists all the profiles on the system (one will be guest, but you can chose the account you recovered). It definitely works in Halo.. and Gears at least. According to Phaethon it works w/ Rock Band and The Simpsons as well. You can increase your stats, earn gamerscore.. whatever.
