Ubisoft today released the demo of Tom Clancy's HAWX on Xbox 360 Marketplace in Europe, while the Playstation 3 PSN will get it tomorrow (PC February 26th). I've played it a couple of times tonight, so here's a video showing the second mission (first is training). I really like it so far, there's so much going on that you really feel like you're on a war field. Feel free to share your impressions of it in the comments section, as always.

Textures & gameplay are both good and still superior to ace combat, but in hefty dogfights with lots of smoke an FX going on, HAWX tends to lag a bit. I mean, it's barely visible but yet interferes with control-responsiveness a bit. That said, it's still a quality game and on par with ace combat. Will definately buy it.

But I think I'll get this game, too. :)

Oh and @toelessfoot, it's not any more sim than AC6... Devs added a bunch of tech to the hud because they think players are dumb, and can't shoot a tank with a missle. To me HAWX looks like AC6 for noobies, with everything made too user-friendly.
Seeing a net covering the battle-zone (city) was a complete let down for me.
The only more realistic thing about HAWX is that it does not have super-bosses, like Aigaion aerial aircraft carrier (which is a minus to me).
And videos representing chatter while on the mission are a joke...
It seems to me that HAWX is a rent, I'll be happy to complete some missions anyway as there are so little flying games on xbox...

And that is one thing ace combat 6 failed to deliver. At times it felt very unreal to me with all the big bosses and what not.
So to have something this fresh is a relief for a lot of us.
Some pretty funny remarks from your wingmen, too!
Pwning planes down the ERS path is very satisfying. BOOM!
I was expecting in this "assistance OFF" mode, a more realistic aproach, but get instead the complete arcade opposite...
otherwise, i found it quite fun!
Ubisoft you bunch of worthless amateurs.
And there is NO expert-mode as they called it. Its simply an exterior view..
This game is to air combat games what NFS Carbon was to racing games.
These kinda hollywood physics really disgust me. Next.
lots of guys comparing this to AC but i felt more like Battle Station:Midway type of game, war strategy/RTS and not much of a shooter when i try many assistance mode changes and lots of ERS maneuvres.
the environment graphic looks pretty nice from around 3000ft above but not so much when you are close to the ground.

2. Drifting is a lot of fun, preying on your target in circles.
3. It's very free-flow, like controlling a bird in flight. Just gives me a good feeling.
4. The reason why you might feel dizzy, is you don't have any flight control. No ERS, no HUD, just your plane and the sky. It's supposed to be hard, so don't drop into it if you're not comfortable.

Expert makes the planes behave like they would in real life, or at least more so. I'm still annoyed though that it's possible to make one impossible loop after another without the pilot taking any beating whatsoever. I miss the old days when air combat simulator actually meant something, and when the planes didn't get loaded with miniature missile factories.
I will check out Hawx as there is literally nothing like it on PS3 but I am not expecting it to be better than AC (damn you Namco, get back on PS3).
PSN demo got delayed to February 26 and the XBL demo is still only for gold members.
