can't wait. time to buy a vr headset next year.
the floaty hands are a bit off-putting, but its understandable if they had to do that for technical reasons.

It better be coming to psvr down the line cause there's no way i'll build a machine and buy an other vr headset +accessories just for that game

i can see it coming to ps5 with psvr.
otherwise you should look into using a shadow pc with oculus quest. its a viable budget alternative.

A game set in the same world as HL2, updated visuals, in VR with all the next gen VR mechanics. An absolute dream come true. Seriously, this right here will blow the doors and hinges off of any so called "AAA" shooter coming out flat for PC or console, given that's if it's substantial enough as a game, that is. The fume and the backlash over this, because it's a VR game, will make for some hilarious, and frustrating reading. For anyone with the means to play this with an Index on PC, I'm envious.

It's been 84 years, man. I want Valve to blow the minds of everyone with essential VR software.

looks great, too bad it's VR though. VR has been kinda mixed with me.
i'm more of the type of PC gamer that would put the cash towards extra graphics hardware.
and then just to power VR. that would also need the extra graphics power as well.
VR is expensive.

I second this, the highest quality version I could find so far is the 1440p60 VP9/Opus from YouTube :/

I can't wait for the release of Pimax 8K X so I could finally upgrade my aging Vive, just in time for HL:A. The game will be free to anyone who purchased any part of the Valve Index kit by the end of 2019, so there's a good reason to accelerate my purchase of the Index controllers. Unless Valve uses some game mechanics that benefits greatly from the 120/144 Hz refresh-rate of the Index HMD, I guess the Pimax 8K X together with the Index controllers would be the best way to experience the game for at least a few months before some other high-end HMD gets announced...
This game better be good, for VR gaming's sake... and Valve's.

It's not so weird when you're playing in VR, most games do the same to avoid the disconnection between your body and full arms. Don't worry about it, seeing it in 2D is a different feeling.

As someone said before, Half Life in VR is like a dream come true. A very nice thing to give it for free to us Index owners but even if I had to pay for it this would be amazing. For almost three years I've played nothing but VR games with a few exceptions in 2D and in all honesty, VR is a total revolution, it's just incredible when you're inside the game instead of just watching it on a screen. I can't wait for this, it looks stunning!

No, of course not, it's not on-rails at all. It's 100% Half-Life and then some.
