Images PC Xbox 360 PS3

After a few months of complete silence, Two Worlds 2 is bak with five new images. The first game failed to deliver a great experience in spite of Suxxex's will to compete with Oblivion. Let's hope this one is more convincing.

i'm actually kinda looking forward to this, the first was by no means great, but it still did MANY things better then the often compared oblivion. if they can sort the voice acting, and general buggy presentation, then i'd be happy with more of the same loot centric gameplay.

Yeah, the demo put me off the first game because it seemed so flimsy, but a lot of people I know really liked it. Is it worth a punt?

for the price you should be able to get it for now, i'd say definately. dont expect anything too flash tho, if you do you're gonna set yourself up for dissapointment. otherwise it has decent loot, loads of weapons and armour, ok combat, cool world to explore (very distinct areas much like an MMO) and crap loads of quests. look past the 'hilarious for all the wrong reasons' voice acting, and you should enjoy it at least a little.

You'd be better off buying a hammer for the same price and hitting yourself over the head with it.* You'll get a lot more enjoyment out of it.

* - Note: I am in no way encouraging a fellow Gamersyder to hit him/herself over the head with a hammer, nor do I promote that kind of violence. Thanks for your time.

Yeah true, like... erm... no, wait. It did absolutely NOTHING better.

Seriously, how people can even try and stand up for the piece of trash that is the first Two Worlds is beyond me. There is next to nothing in there that you will find enjoyable, unless of course you enjoy awful visuals, plenty of bugs and probably the worst voice acting you'll find in any game. In fairness, the PC version of the game is significantly better than its console counterpart, but that isn't much of a compliment in all honesty. I'm all for opinions and everything, but I can't even comprehend people actually enjoying the first game to any extent.

The first one was so bad that I'm surprised they've bothered with a sequel. Surprisingly though, I'm fairly optimistic - if only because it's practically impossible that their second attempt will be worse than their first.

To improve the game? Look at Kane and Lynch 2, Mass Effect 2, and Assassin's Creed 2. Every game deserves a second chance, even Big Rigs! :D

They should have just started a new IP though, because I can't see it ever becoming a respectable series. You can't tell me that Kane & Lynch, Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed were as bad as Two Worlds.

It's not like there's even a good story to continue.

loot, combat, the world itself. the amount and diversity of the armour and weapons, the quest variety. hell, even the voice acting which was terrible, is about on par with the 3 people who do the voices in oblivion. the only thing oblivion had going for it is its story. even visually they both suffered bugs and glitches. two worlds is a less polished, but fundamentally better version of oblivion.

blimey, i honestly thought korndog would be one to rip two worlds apart. I'm with him here I got some enjoyment out of it pretty much for the same reasons. The environment I found rather nice tbh. Loot looks alot more awsome than oblivion and does have much more variety. Combat I felt was pretty much the same as oblivion you mash attack then press a button to dodge in this case instead of block. You can't of given it much of a chance blmbox to rip on it like this their have been many worst games than TW by a mile. If voice acting annoys ya that much just skip the convos easy enough to do.

I gave it every chance. I didn't complete it, but I played more than enough of it to come to the conclusion that it's a huge pile of steaming shit. I wouldn't say it's the worst game I've ever played, but it's definitely up there with the best (or worst) of them. I love medieval fantasy more than most people - it's my favourite genre, whether it be in films, books or video games - so I was determined to try and enjoy it, but there's just nothing there that warrants praise.

And to say it's fundamentally better than a game that's superior to it in every way is laughable, opinion or not.

In my opinion? No, definitely not.

There are hundreds of games out there that are worth your money more than Two Worlds. I wouldn't waste my time if I was you, but it's your decision of course.

yes, for the price it's easily worth it, it's 5 quid, if that. would i have recommended it when it first came out for full price? certainly not, i don't LOVE the game, but it DID do things better then oblivion, some things a LOT better, whether people want to accept that fact or not. but at the end of the day the best way to find out is to play it yourself. and as i said, it's being sold for next to nothing, what have you got to lose?

I'd like to underline that it did SOME things better than oblivion :P

Usually I'm fair understanding of other peoples' opinions, but I genuinely can't comprehend this particular one. I can accept that people enjoy certain games I don't particularly like, but I seriously can't see how people can like this game in the slightest, let alone say that it did anything better than a game as great as Oblivion.

But you know, you're entitled to such an opinion. It's fair game.

Oblivion has tons of flaws, close to game breaking ones. The leveling system is a right kick in the balls, the scaling enemies/loot make exploration completely worthless and some skills are completely useless (sneaking for one). Oblivion is good, but to be great i really think it needs mods. That said Two Worlds is terrible. It's got some good ideas but terrible execution for the most part. For me the community had to step in and fix the goddamn system for oblivion to become the game it should have always been. I still enjoyed it and played vanilla oblivion for well over 150 hours though.
