Trailer Xbox 360 PS3

After being leaked to the Internet last week, Red Dead Redemption latest trailer is now officially available. Again, Rockstar proves us how talented they are when it comes to making trailers that just make you want to see more.

For me, this has the potential to be significantly better than GTA IV - or, more relevantly, other Western games that have been released before. Sure, it probably won't receive the same amount of critical acclaim as the latest GTA - was that game really 90-odd/100 worthy? Per-lease! - but I reckon it'll be a heck of a lot more exciting.

There's something about the Western setting. A certain charm, a certain atmosphere that isn't seen in other settings. Red Dead: Redemption looks to capitalise on that very charm I'm talking about, and is one of my most anticipated games next year, that's for sure.

Looks awesome.. shame april seems so far away.

I'm concerned though.. rockstar have a far more limiting universe to play around with with the western setting..and they're not exactly known for their games being blessed with a wide varity in the missions.

GTA's a work of art.. a game that truely portrays the sense of a living breathing world. It also offers a stella cast, and acting of standard beyond most hollywood movies (something this title looks to share), whilst retaining the instant pick up and play fun GTA, and most sand box games, are known for. It's certainly worth it's 9+ in my eyes

I can't really see this game being a heck of a lot more exciting simply because it will be alot more limiting in what it offers. This is a game that really needs a tight evolving story to carry it along.

definately looking forward to this. but it looks like it could suffer the "far cry 2" syndrome, where the world is SO vast, and SO empty, that traveling across it not only takes forever, but is about as fun as stabbing yourself in the eye with a cocktail stick.

narrative wise it's going to be awesome, all R* games are, but i have worries, worries that wont go away untill i play it myself.

For me GTAIV was most dissapointing game last year (boring, repetive and scripted - truly nextgen gameplay indeed ) but I cant resist this one. Western setting are always awesome so...just bring it on.

See, that's where our opinions differ. I agree about the stellar production values and fantastic technology driving it but, for me, GTA IV simply wasn't fun. It seemed that by going for an increased sense of realism, Rockstar forgot what made the series so highly regarded in the first place.

I also disagree about the so called 'limitations' that come with the Western setting; it's no more limiting than the modern setting. It's just different.

It will ofcourse be more limited in gameplay elements than GTA4 offered due to it's setting. You're not exactly going to take to the skys in your horse are you? Joy riding in a train should be fun..

The western setting will offer a completely different pace of gameplay, doesnt mean that gameplay will be worse.. but i cant see it offering anywhere near the options an open world set in a modern setting would.

Which is why this games story structure will need to be spot on, and offer alot more variety than Rockstars norm "fetch quests"

Day one for me. Wow, the engine is quite a step up from GTA IV's, and that's saying something. It does look like DX10 though. Of course there are fewer people and cars(obviously), but the quality of the character models is massively improved. And the expressions and lip syncing! I can't wait!

Good God, the more I watch this trailer, the more I think this game has some of the best graphics I've yet seen( resolution aside). The facial animation is fighting tooth and nail with Heavenly sword for the top spot. That old man at 1:20- incredible. Add in some Euphoria, and I'm in heaven! Best. Voice Acting. Ever...

Most generic dialogue and story ever. It's almost cringe-worthy. Hope it lives up to the variety of the 1st game.

It just wasn't enjoyable at all. Framerate, lame missions, dying all the time, fetching armour, the phone. I really hope this game learns from the failures of GTA IV.

Honestly for me this is the better game if i would compare it to GTA !
The Western setting is Cool, any setting that doesen't play in our real time, now time and what we can do and see every day out side the door is in my opinion better, mostly!

Sure, you could say,in what kind of neighborhood do i live, but stealing cars, gangs, skinheads,Russians and what ever,i have this all outside my door,so I enjoy something more fantasy or far reached like this !

Game is a buy for me !

Who is that voice actor? Is it Bill Paxton?

and? isnt that the same as people who spout constant praise for a game every time news is released? (like me and uncharted 2, or DC and mass effect 2) it's how i feel about the game, and untill that feeling goes away, i will continue to state it.
