Doesn't look that impressive. Is this the console version? Will the PC version look better?

Looks amazing. Day one buy.

However, it's obvious this video is partly made because CD Projekt just KNOW that the SJWs will be "offended" and whining about sexism/objectification/racism/misogyny and all the other usual stuff.

These people previously whined about boob physics being mentioned in the developer NOTES for an old Witcher 3 trailer.

So CDP seem to be purposely pointing out all the stuff that will cause controversy with the authoritarian prudes, radical feminists, and professionally offended SJWs.

But just like Warhorse Studios, Stardock, Destructive Creations and Running With Scissors it seems as if CDP simply do not care about these whiny hipsters and wont compromise their vision, art and game. More devs need stand up for themselves instead of leaving it to us gamers/fans to stand up for them.

They are refusing to show PC on maximum settings and saying we have to wait to play it ourselves so no.

Well it's pulp fantasy, it's supposed to be rawer and dirtier than Tolkien. I personally prefer the pulp type fantasy, because it feels more genuine in terms of interaction between characters and the world. I think stuff like Conan and the Witcher books are great examples of this type of fantasy done right. The witcher games though, kinda misses the mark a bit, especially with the dialogue. Gratuitous use of the word "plowing" or whoreson doesn't give it the pulp feel, it just makes it a bit silly, but there you have it. If you can overlook the failings i still think the Witcher games do a pretty good job of it in general. But violence and sex is part of the Witcher universe, there's no getting around that.

when he says "go away or i'll kill you" i almost spat out my drink. that was horribly delivered. the actual text option of "back off or die" would have sounded better.

Nothing so far as i know. Not to mention it's about 50-100 years after anything in either the novels or the games takes place :P

It's obvious. For the console users not to ,,cry''.
So they're doing it on purpose I suppose.

PLEASE DELETE THIS POST.

So i was thinking about this just now. A lot of people complain about the Witcher 2s combat, and i agree that it's not amazing (i still think it's passable) but i mean...what other western RPG does this kind of third person action combat better? Not saying that that makes the combat better in any way, but the only other game i could think of that does anything even remotely similar is like...skyrim, and that sucks shit with a straw compared to Witcher 2 for melee combat (imo at least). I hope Witcher 3 does it better and gives a bit more depth to the combat, and does away with the incredibly tedious boss encounters that 2 had (first fight with Letho anyone?).

would the souls games fall into that bracket? bloodborne? tbh i'd prefer bloodbornes flavour of combat over the withcer 2's. but that's just me. skyrims is absolutely abysmal though, so anything is better then that.

I said western RPGs since i think the Japanese developers have always been better at the action RPGs in general. I'd love to see a game with as much RPG-ing and stuff as The Witcher and as solid a combat system as Souls/Bloodborne, but i think one of the reasons why the Souls game can put so much care in to the gameplay is because they don't use so much resources on big sprawling worlds and extra content; they are VERY focused on what they do.

Edit*
That said i think most Japanese developers kinda suck dong when it comes to the RPG aspect. I mean...i can't think of a single game out of Japan that does RPG to the extent of something like Fallout 2 or Baldur's Gate. Then again, that's pretty rare in western RPGs as well, but most RPGs over here at least try to incorporate some bits of actual roleplaying in to the games, whereas most jRPGs stop at leveling up your characters.

This is my MOST Anticipated Game of the Year! This game looks like it could be the autobiography of my LIFE! I feel this game. I have dreams about this game, that I'm walking around slaying monsters for coin, and screwing Kim Kardsahian and her sisters. I have the Collector's Edition (PS4) pre ordered/Paid In Full! I can't wait to see the sex scenes with Yennifer and Trish! Skeet, skeet, skeet, skeet. This will be *looks at camera* An RPG fan's dream come true.

LOL i will probably not get it, but never say never. Maybe in the future when its much cheaper and pre-owned but probably not launch. I didnt like Witcher 2 combat and story was boring as fuck to me so thats why i am not super hyped like some people.

Yea, i can agree on Witcher 2's story. What started out interesting first got boring pretty quick and you really needed some patience for the game to get interesting, but at some later point the game just sucked me in and i didn't regret holding on to it. As for combat, like Megido already pointed out, combat was and is pretty good for a game of the genre, swordfights looked believable animation-wise and it felt satisfying to fight foes (even if controls were a bit clunky). All in all it didn't feel like a disappointment to me. Pity you couldn't enjoy it the way i have.

Is the combat in TW2 much better than the first game? Because the combat in the first game is anything but good enough. I'm forcing myself to finish TW1 right now. I'm at the end of chapter 3, and I think it's the worst RPG I've played in a long time. Nearly everything about it sucks. The combat sucks; the progression model sucks; the itemization sucks; the quest design sucks; the dialog and animations suck; the economy sucks; and the level design sucks. I guess Alchemy is passable.

The first game is just a bad softcore porno. I hope the sequels are better.
I'd love to see a game with as much RPG-ing and stuff as The Witcher and as solid a combat system as Souls/Bloodborne
What "RPG-ing" stuff does The Witcher have that appeals to you? The progression system is convoluted, for something that has minimal impact on the gameplay, and every other pillar is broken (combat, questing, even character development). The Witcher 1 doesn't have a leg to stand on. Is TW2 much better than the first game?
