Atari's and Simbin's Race Pro was released exclusively on Xbox 360 this week, the entrance of Simbin's simulation games on consoles. This game is without a doubt the most fun I've had with a racer on Xbox 360, the gameplay is simply fantastic. Owning a wheel adds another dimension to it, and overall it's a really good game. I'll add more impressions here later, but enjoy this video showing the First 10 Minutes of the game.
I did some heavy editing in the video to remove loading times and some racing segments, to show as many tracks as possible. You've been warned!
Posted by droezelke Hey Manager, thanks for the video's. But is it possible to show some extensive cockpit view racing?
Sorry, I've spent all weekend capturing different games and I have more videos to do, so I can't do it right now. The videos above have a bit of cockpit driving. But the demo has been rumoured for so long now so hopefully you'll be able to try it yourself soon.
Posted by ramiuk1 is your video played from harddrive, its just it looks alot smoother on my tv,i not noticed any tearing or bandiung on mine, but did alot on your video
Not installed. I think the tearing is more obvious in the video because you get a better overall picture when you're not playing yourself. The tearing is probably there while you play on your TV, but you focus on other areas on the screen - the next corner, horizon etc, when you race.
This is specially obvious when using the small window in streaming, you get too good overall picture. The size makes it like playing on a 19" screen and sit like 5 meters away from the screen, no-one does that.
rented it, hated it. could have got a takeaway with that money. lol
compaired to fortza, fortza wins hands down, the game got a funny look about it for me..
Played this at a friend of mine and my god, this game's one ugly mf. Handling is fantastic though, the car really has a sense of weight to it and the steering also has some sense of weight to it, don't know how to explain it better though.
Definitely feels more realistic than Forza 2. Plus, it has a fricking cock-pit view! Otherwise, this game's seriously lacking. I thought Forza 2 was lacking in content, but this one really pushes it...
Can you tell me if you're able to hide the visible steering wheel and driver hands while in the cockpit view? I never liked that, not when using a wheel of my own. It's distracting IMO.

Thanks for the vids.
I don't know, I'll see if it's there next time I play. I really doubt it though, never heard of anything like it.
nope. you can't hide the wheel. cockpit view is however a great way to play the game. comparisons to Forza are unfair, Forza's physics is almost on a par with Race Pro, but not quite... Race Pro is a bit tougher with all the aids off. However, what race pro does that Forza doesn't, is 16 cars on the screen at the same time with no slow down. Hence the averag graphics. If you happen to start at the back, and need to work your way to the front, on a tough AI setting, with 15 other cars ahead of you, it's quite daunting.

Wel, I've played forza and I've played PGR 4. And well, to be honest with you, this game seems to be lacking in the :"The parachute was invented by DiVinci in 1515" department. I don't know hoe you feel on that one.

Sorry about that. Typo. Mind my french, I did not mean to put hoe, that was purely coincidental, i actually meants to put:"It is possible to lead a cow upstairs...but not downstairs". sorry guys!
I don't like how Forza started this hand-holding trend in "sim" racers. In real life you don't have a magical line showing you how to enter turns and when to brake.
It has good physics and a quite decent AI that knows how to maintain position. Graphically (both in-game and front-end) it's nothing to write home about, and contrary to zerolight I have to say there is a quite noticeable frame drop every once in a while, especially when you play in cockpit mode. Speaking of: GT5p is still the only game for me that is actually playable in cockpit mode. This -- besides a few exception, such as the Mini -- isn't.

Then turn it off.
I like it, purely on a social side. I play with all aids turned off apart from ABS, but having all the aids, racing line and auto box makes the game far more accessible to a few of my friends that are not as good at racing games. As long as you find a decent level playing field it makes for some great racing. :D and much fun had by all :)

Forza didn't start that, it has been there since the early F1 Sims on PC. You can always turn it off.

You could hide the wheel in rFactor, and I'm pretty sure you can in the GTR games.
Thanks again.
