After Type 0, not really the most awaited game ever, here is a trailer for one that people actually care about: Final Fantasy XV. And this one shows some rather surprising sequences too.

Just watched the 2 E3 2013 trailers and this TGS 2014 one back to back, the game looks and feels incredible.
And to those who played Xenoblade Chronicles (epic RPG) and ever wondered how it would look in HD, well FFXV is the answer. =D

This is really impressive. Seemed like the FF series slowly dropped in quality (though still good games). Graphics, animations and gameplay all seem to have improved dramatically.
First time since...uh, 8 i guess, that i find a Final Fantasy to be promising. I suppose 12 an exception as well, but i never got hyped about it as i kind of discovered that it didn't suck as much shit as the other installments of the series later :P
This though, it has a sensible art style (ie everyone doesn't look like they spent a billion dollars on hairgel and retarded outfits), with a seemingly more grounded world. The grejfix are pretty nice too. Also i like the fact that they seem to have ditched the slow, boring and unstrategic combat of picking attack 50 times from a blue menu. Thank f**k for that :)

So let me see if i got this straight. You are ok with men swinging impossibly huge swords at mythic dragons while their nemesis tries to become a god, but driving around a seemingly post apocalyptic landscape with a big ass lizard in it, that's just too much? Or is anything not strictly realistic silly? :P
It's a FinalFantasy game, they aren't striving for realism. Then again, compared to something like 8 or 9 this looks very much grounded and cohesive. It sort of reminds me mroe of Tactics and 12, which imo is a very good thing.
Hard to tell at this stage, but then from other trailers and stuff, i don't think a car seems that out of place at all. But then again, we don't know that much about the world and the story yet, do we? I don't think the car is weirder than the cars in 7 or 8.
Well...this looks impressive. They are aproximatig a CG look and the modelling, lighting and detail is very impressive. I am hyped again. This looks much better than last years footage.
Looking nice though I would like to see an extended gameplay demo that focuses exclusively on combat. The last good (and imo the best) Final Fantasy game was FFIX.
wonder how free that driving is...or if they've just placed a car in the corridors. Looks ok, nice looking characters. Pretty plane flat fields for battlegrounds i've come to expect from FF games..though this clearly isnt turn-based combat (wish rpg's would use the enviroment to effect combat more). The combat does look great though, with counters and links. Maybe hinting to a co-op?

So Final Fantasy Forever now has a road trip simulator. What more surprises will Tetsuya Nomura bring us in the next trailer of this 8-year episodic movie epic? I'm still not sure what the story is after watching 9 trailers for this game, but at least they're trying, there were some attempts at character development here, maybe in the next 8 years we'll finally get a a plot?

hahaha! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing! It looks like a road movie with fantasy on it, wich in my book sounds cool, even if I usually don't dig anime aesthetics or JRPGs.

Don't think so...Versus was part of 13 though so maybe it has been canned or morphed into this? Didnt they show new gameplay of it last year?

I'm just thinking that Noctis and the girl look veeeeeery similar to the characters from versys, as does the environment and everything. I'm guessing thye basically just turned it in to a fully developed Final Fantasy installment rather than a spinoff. But again, i don't know, just guessing. And was Versus ever really confirmed to be part of XIII? Wasn't it just developed along side it?
