Video PS3

DjMizuhara, our beloved reporter without borders, strongly advised me to show some exclusive gameplay of Pixel Junk Shooter so here are two videos to tease your appetite before the game's release. I also added DjMizuhara's impressions inside.

DjMizuhara's first impressions:

I managed to get some quality hands on time with Q-Games Pixel Junk Shooter for the PS3 and I was amazed how easy it was to pick up and play. The controls are as sharp and responsive as you'd expect of a Pixel Junk game that merged with a beautiful yet simple visuals and awesome ambient music makes PJ shooter my game of TGS, every free moment I had during TGS I've head over the the Q-games booth to try and get my hands on it. I couldn't get enough of it and I can't wait until this title is released in December. Here is a video of the first 5 minutes for you to get all hot and bothered about. Enjoy.

Pixel Junk Shooter was my game of TGS....it's just so easy to pick up and play the music and sound effects are very well implemented plus it's totally different from everything else I played while I was at the show. Q-Games are on to a real winner with this title.

Oh, the guy playing was Garnett Lee from 1up now of Shacknews.

I'm really excited for this game but i've always feared that the controls might suck. Good to hear that they don't.

Cool, boss-fights! I thought it would be a sort of Monsters affair, trying to work your way through seperate levels best you can, but this makes me a happy puppy!

Okay since I'm a total noob on these type of games;

Can someone explain to me what makes this game so awesome compared to other games in it's genre?

- It looks very good (I can see that)
- You guys keep discussing an awesome sound track

But what about the gameplay? Any differences with other games in the same genre?

You say that like this is a prominent or even stagnant genre. There are hardly any of these Trust, Lunar Lander or Sub-Terrania-style games anymore. It seems most of its additions are mechanics these older games simply couldn’t have, such as physics, fluids and destructible scenery. It's just coincidence that two have arrived at the same time.

Btw thanks for the vids and impressions DJmizuhara. I must say I'm still a bit in the dark as to how long a game like this will stay fun and challenging, but hearing your positive vibe helps a lot.

Compared to Gravity Crash: which takes the cake and why?

I'm no expert, but from what I've seen the difference in gameplay comes thanks to the liquid in the levels. You've got water and lava, and probably some others i don't know... and you can shoot the landscape to manipulate where they flow and how they interact with each other/enemies/etc.
