Now moving on to the Sony stuff, here is three images from Metal Gear Solid 4, and another three from Metal Gear Online. Don't forget to check out our awesome floor video put online earlier today.
But seriously though, MGO is looking very cool for a online game only.
I WISH that Kojima considers to put that with MGS4 and not seperetly.
I want to get MGO, but only if it comes with MGS4.
Its gonna be soooo much awesome. Long time ago I played a MGSgame, and it was MGS2 Subsistance on Xbox, but I know the background story very well :D

Don't worry, MGO comes with MGS4 as some sort of "starter pack." What this implies, I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing you'll have to download some content seperately (and pay for it) to get the full experience.
i agree, the textures are really basic, and lack the usual effects, the lighting is fantastic tho as well as the touches in the animation, about all i have to say really, dont have any interest in this game after MGS2 destroyed my will to live

On top of that, the colorscheme is absolutely poor. There isn't a single thing apart from its sharpness I can worship this games graphics for. Along with some heavily dated AI shown in older movies MGS4/ MGO just can't seem to bother me.
Have to add though I didn't like the rest of the series too. ;)

Textures, okay, whatever. It looks good enough to me. I've never said I'm not buying a game because the textures suck. As for the color scheme, it's called a lens filter. It gives the game personality in the same way that colorful graphics give games like Mario personality. The main difference is that MGS4 conveys bleakness instead of cheerfulness. Look at Silent Hill as another example. Everything is dark and rusted, and the games use a grain filter. ART DIRECTION, PEOPLE!
Looks really cool. Only negative think I can say is that it looks abit bland and there's just too much green-ness going on for my liking. Apart from that I can't wait.
That's what I ment Blinx. Nothing wrong with some artistic art direction Synce, it's just I dislike games that are too monotone. An other example is Killzone: although it looks great I just don't like the everlasting grey. I think Brothers In Arms proved a wargame can be intensive in normal colors too. Art direction is fine, just don't overdo it.
It's like synce says: The Color Scheme has nothing with the tech graphic. It's a style choosen by the devs. Halo 3 = Bright and Many Colors = Fantasy World. Gears and MGS = Dark and gray = Cold world.
The modells are absolue superb but the enviroment sucks bigtime on textures which make the graphic seem unbalanced. Good high poly and hig texture modells against simple low texture enviroment doesent look too good, but not bad.
But if the game is made for 1080p then I understand why they have cut back on the enviroment.
Kojima NEVER uses CG for his cutscenes. Everything is real-time in-game engine. So what you see in cutscenes is exactly how they are in the gameplay.
People expect Crysis graphics you know.
What they don't know is that its the smallest details that gives away what next-gen is about.
For example...MGS4 is the only game I have seen that actually goes into raw detail of how to reload a weapon, check the weapon out, mount it...etc.
While GRAW, Gears of War...etc. they aren't and they seem to be looked ahead over MGS4.
In GRAW you cant even see they poping the ammo clip out of the weapon and replacing in a new one, while in MGS4 they show every single bullet.
Shown that Kojima goes into details and the cinematic feel, rather taking graphics the best of everything.
I for one think the graphics are bad ass, and its one of the best I have seen.

Also, I love the third image. You can't have a good game without humor, and MGS never disappoints!

anyway, people were complaining about the ugly shaders, not the models.
