Four years after the first episode, Test Drive Unlimited 2 will ship on Spetember 21st on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Back in 2006, online gaming on console was almost just born but the game nonehteless managed to appeal to the players who enjoyed driving around with friends. Let's hope this sequel will at least do just as well. A beta is already planned and you can subscribe here.

Merging them all together would be nice.
If there'd be an open world with real cars and power-up combat with environment threats that has car modding and online competition then it would be the ultimate game for me :D
The main thing they need to get right is the physics. Thought cars handled alright in TDU, but it could stand to be improved, make the cars feel less stiff. Particularly collisions and such felt kind of crappy. Other than that it's just general miscellaneousness. Such as comparing cars from different manufacturers...they did not think that through at all. You had to drive from one manufacturer, write down all the specs, then drive all the way to another manufacturer. And Oahu is not a small island. Like...give the avatar internet in his home or something.
One thing I kind of wish they wouldn't improve is all the clothes, furniture and avatar nonsense. All that stuff just seems misguided. Fine that you can buy homes/garages/hubs and customize your avatar to some degree, but it seems to me like they've went a bit overboard with all the peripheral customization. But as long as they're making improvements everywhere else as well I guess I don't really mind....though I kind of would mind the potential douche factor. It was present in the first game and could be even more prevalent in this one.
TDU online was like a MMO, and one second you're cruising around alone and the next second you see some cars lagging passing by you very fast. At least that was the experience I got from playing that game when it had a reasonable number of players online.
