It looks pretty enough, but 30fps for a racing game is a deal braker. It just doesn't look like believable motion for a fast moving game to have anything but a silky smooth frame rate.

What? 30fps?? Have i missed something? Do you have a link to the source? Not saying i dont believe you but i had no idea this was down for anything less than 60fps.
I played the new Sonic racer last night and realised just how crap racing games are at 30fps. Not saying the game was bad, just noticable to games such as Forza that run at 60.

First I've heard that it's 30fps, but there is plenty of motion blur which would help disguise it

The same track always :P
Also, less brown and less blur... thats why 60fps is boss for fast paced games.

No doubt it's a real looker, probably the best looking racer so far this gen, even better than Forza or GT. BUT, if it really is only 30fps that will hurt the game a little, though not as bad as some are making it sound.

I just don't think the whole explosion thing is going to stay fun for very long at all. And going by the gameplay vids I've seen, the racing physics look closer to ridge racer than anything else, which is a VERY bad thing in my book.

Totally agree about 60fps! When Microsoft made 720p mandatory on all 360 titles, they should've made 60fps mandatory as well—especially for racing titles.

If this is at 30fps it can be a deal breaker for me, too. And I'm sorry, but I just don't believe that's real-time motion blur. It simply looks too clean (there seems to be at least 32 samples per frame which just doesn't seem possible on the 360).

That said, the shots are beautiful, but since I can't put this game in a frame and hang on a wall, show me more footage! :)

The graphics look nice- a bit over the top but it fits within the context of the game. If it's anything like Pure, it would be great although the gameplay in Pure isn't quite as deep or satisfying. Probably perfect for the casual racers waiting for the next great FPS.

I doubt it but I hope there's an interior (cockpit) view instead of just the bumper cam and third person view of the car. Imagine how amazing the interior could be since the game isn't based on real world models. HUD right on the windshield, dashboard from the LF-A and more buttons and lights than a fighter jet.

The first paragraph you wrote really makes no sense, especially as there are numerous 360 titles that are not 60 fps...a bit puzzled is all.

Still, I agree the game looks ok in shots but I agree that 30 fps is too slow for a truly fluid racer.

Edit: Never mind, I don't think I am awake yet, what you said makes perfect sense...my bad.

PGR4 runs at 30 fps and the sense of speed is great.

This looks great but i doubt if they can lock this at 30FPS all the time.

Sega allstar racing runs at 30fps but the framerate dips drastically. Just a case of bad programming rather than the 360 and ps4 not being powerfull enough.

Looks great! 30 fps is enough for an arcade racer like this. Of course 60 fps would be better, but 30 fps doesn't really affect the overall gameplay that much. Definitely one to watch.

It because they cover it up with motion blur

Don't care about the 30 vs 60 in this case to be honest. From the videos ive seen, it runs well enough.

I would love for all games to run at 60, but I have long given up that dream. Games simply don't get enough respect for making their games run at 60, it's nothing more than a footnote in the review if it's even mentioned at all, and yet any frame dips or graphical artefacts are berated with burning fervour. You don't have to look around this site much to find people complaining about the quality of unsubstantial textures 5 miles in the distance, just imagine what would happen if developers halved the detail in each frame.
