Positives:

- Really love the graphics - the visuals are no longer an issue
- The tactical elements are incredibly expansive and should ensure a lot of deep thought

Negatives:

- Animations are just terrible
- Seems to play like all the other PES games this generation

Fortunately, I've been informed that this is from an older playing code and does not have the mo-cap animations implemented. Therefore, we shouldn't be looking too much into the animations etc. at the moment (apparently).

Tactics in PES has always been much deeper in than those found in Fifa and now its hit a whole new level! Also the graphics look much better than before and something tells me that this year football competiton wont be an easy win for EA like last year.

i hope thats not the only music for the tatics screen... sounds like a bunch of ducks quacking.

As for this v's fifa.. will all depend on if PES has a working online mode this year.. something they always seem to fail at

Something tells me those sliders are going to be exploited massively online. Awfully stiff animations as well, like they all have rods up their arses.

Those sliders are just ridiculous. Whoever told Seabass that real football tactics are implimented like this needs a hiding. For a start, they are far too uniform, meaning that adjusting them affects the whole team. It's just basically a more convenient and gimmicky ploy other than having to set your players to play like that mannually at an individual basis like you could in every other PES game. Remember TeamVision? Only difference this time is that you can actually see players move into position. Great.

Only real improvement is the graphics have improved, but even then I've my gripes. It still doesn't look anywhere near as natural as Fifa 09 from a gameplay view.

The card thing is also ridiculous. Come off it, Konami; your fans aren't 12 years old anymore FFS! Why not just have the simple option to pick from a list of tactics you want to assign to a player is a specific scenario? Again, you could do this in other PES games. I don't know. This isn't evolution at all. It'll be a improvement over the last 3 terrible efforts, but thats it. The Animations are still a disgrace and the passing is still on rails and the controls are still just as clunky as last years going by this footage. This will be fun, but really it's just all over for this series this gen. Fifa has taken over as the purists football sim and that's the bottom line of it.

Some people may think I'm being harsh, well the harsh reality of it is that this series has been a MASSIVE failure since day one of current gen.

I agree partly with the above poster, but in my eyes, Pro Evo is more of an acarde game and not a sim like FIFA has eventually turned into.
I'm still torn between the two as a footy fan.
On one hand, Pro Evo is fast and furious, with slick passing and great control over shots.
FIFA is alot slower with more realistic passing but I've always felt you have little control over the shots, which is my main gripe and the fact when you change player, they automatically stop whatever the AI was doing, meaing if they were chasing a player, you grant them a few extra yards.
Alot of people are saying FIFA is the better of the two this gen, but I still feel none offer a definitive experience and instead you need both since they excell in different areas.

Pro evo is a sim (atleast in the PS2 days) :? and seabess has said he wants to make it a sim again this year. you dont get this much depth in a arcade footy game. this video is from a 50% build with only 25% of the animations

lets wait till gamescom where there will be a 80% build or there abouts. this info is from WENB btw, i dont see why konami show such an early build of a game, there can be no positives from it lol

its like that FIFA 10 footage that got leaked, it looked far too similar to FIFA 09 and couldnt see much improvement but that was because it was such an early build, half the things wasnt even implemented. same thing here but for some reason konami released the footage themselves rather then it getting leaked LOL

I completely agree, and if you're right and this is the old code, I might swap back to PES like the good old days.

Oh dear. It looks like PES. Again.

So their two new additions, rather than a gameplay overhaul and a new set of animations (or even better a whole new engine), are stats sliders that they just demonstrated don't work (he said they take effect instantly, then highlighted the players that would move and drew arrows to show how they would immediately move, then resumed the game, and then EVERY time they either stood still or moved in the opposite direction to the arrow), and a shit version of the game modifier cards in FIFA's Ultimate Team mode, which everyone ignored because they were crap.

Well done Konami, you have truly outdone yourselves.
