But...can you hunt the deadliest prey of all? MAN!
I just don't get hunting games. Guess i've never tried one, but i mean...it just seems kinda pointless. But i'm obviously not the intended obvious :P
Well, IRL I don't like hunters and hunting and did not see the point of such games, but I could try the beta of this game and now the full game and I can say I enjoy playing it, hunting in a game, not for real.
They made a free to play version if you want to try.
It's like war games, players of shooters don't like killing peoples for real (I hope ^^).
It's just a game, you dont hurt anyone nor any animals, and it's quite fun with friends.
Also, the videos only show the start of the game, you have skills to unlock, new weapons to buy, and areas to discover, there's also a mountain and bears that can hunt you, but I did not get there yet.

I can't say I like the philosophy of hunting either, but I doubt you've never hunted the wildlife in RDR or the Far Cry series, like I did. It's just a video game.

A video game that justifies killing animals. Disgusting ( just like far cry games lately )

So I figure that a video game that justifies killing people is ok.
Again, don't get me wrong, I don't like hunters in real life, but it's just a game. To be honest, I wish they played this more and didn't hunt for real. :)
Oh...we have some deep conversation here. I don´t like TROPHY hunting. That´s stupid and just fucked up. Hunting for meat? Yeah...we all eat, right? Even I don´t like that idea of killing a beautiful animal, I tried the first Hunter game and damn...it´s sort of relaxing and requires some skill. BTW... game justifying killing animals? Are You joking? At least, the real hunter kills the animal fast....Google some fucked up methods of how mankind is mass killing animals for meat....You will begin to love hunters for their way, how to get their prey.
Yeah i don't see what's wrong with hunting for things like food or population control. Not to mention, it's professional hunters that get called in to hunt and kill injured animals after accidents and such as well. Shooting an animal for food also seems like a way more humane way of getting that food, as compared to factory farming. Minimal suffering and the animal gets to live free until it dies. Seems like a win to me.

I knew it would come to this :) It is a videogames site ( the best of all ), not the right place to discuss things like that. However : killing people is a crime, killing animals is ( unfortunatelly ) not ;)

You know poaching is illegal. At least in Sweden. You can't just go around freely killing animals. Hunting threatened wildlife is illegal too I think.

I think a lot of people don't even know what hunting is like. Most of the people who hunt that i've met or talked to have great respect for the animals and nature. Far more than some vegan hippy douche, smugging away behind his soy latte.

Cool anecdote but I have to laugh. Hunting/killing is sport for most people I know. I don't have a problem with hunting but it's definitely a little weird if you live in an area with a supermarket and it's 2017.

Maybe it's different here and in the US. Here it's illegal to hunt, or even own a hunting rifle, without license and hunting is controlled. You aren't allowed to just go out and shoot animals. Also maybe you just have shitty friends, what do i know...like you said, cool anecdote bruh.
Why is it weird? I mean you make it sound like if you enjoy hunting as an activity that means you are some sadist monster. You do it in teams, you get meat and you certainly have more ethical meat in your freezer afterwards as compared to some factory farmed meat you get at 7-eleven. So i don't know...what's weird about killing your own meat? Of anything it's fucking weird that people can chow down on meat all day long yet get grossed out by seeing the truth of where meat comes from.

I think it's weird that people get off on killing animals when they have no need to. Many hunters hunt because they enjoy the act of animal murder. But it's like, ethically superior than going to the supermarket so those guys totally aren't weird. Totally.
How is it more ethical farm animals on bad diets, in cramped and dirty spaces, then turning them in to hotdogs just to keep prices down, as compared to shooting a wild animal that has lived free up until it's death? I don't condone hunting for sport, but i don't see any issue in hunting for food. Just because you can buy it at a super market doesn't mean an animal didn't die for you to eat that meat, but then i know it's pointless to argue with you. You seem completely incapable of even entertaining views that differ form your own. I'm out.
But I didn't say that factory farming was more ethical than hunting. Not that I think keeping livestock is inherently immoral either. That's just another anecdote you're perverting to fit your argument. As if all farms and farmers are all sadists! At no point did I claim that the supermarket averts the death of an animal, but let's pretend that people don't hunt for the "sport" of it, I guess. It's totally all about the meat and the ethical superiority.
No, ofc not all farmers are doing a bad job with keeping the animals. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with keeping animals either. But using factory farmers as a counter argument to all hunters being hillbillys shooting varmint for the lulz is just as valid. There is nothing inherently wrong with hunting, nor is there anything inherently wrong with keeping animals. It's about how you do it. Calling people sick and weird for hunting for their own meat rather than going to the super market makes no sense to me, certainly as a blanket statement. People killing only for sport? Not very good. But then again, farming meat in a factory for maximum profit with no regards to the animal health (or the quality of the end product for that matter) is not particularly good either. Both are at the shitty end of the spectrum. And i mean, with your own retarded logic, are farmers that keep animals also psychotic idiots who just do it cause they love slaughtering animals so much?

There's a setting to turn it off though.
Also, the game supports Tobii Eye Tracking (I've got one, the 4C), and it's beeing used well :
- eye tracking to move the camera a bit (active in videos 3 and 4)
- aim at gaze (in the 4 videos, the weapon aims where my eyes look when I hold right mouse click)
- binocular at gaze (same as the aim)
- fade parts of the HUD when I'm not looking at it (like the amo and compass in the bottom right, active in the the 4 videos)
- ingame eye adaptation depending on where I look (disabled in all videos, it changes the eye adaptation/HDR when I look at bright or dark areas)
