When Murdered: Soul Suspect was first announced, it was pretty promising in terms of gameplay mechanics. Alas, it turns out Airtight Games' title is very limited in that everything is very scripted and there is no challenge at all in solving the different puzzles. To make it worse, making mistakes is never punishing since you can just try again by selecting other clues to finish the ongoing investigation. Add to that the dated visuals, the laughable cat sequences and the lack of overall polish, and you'll understand that it's not easy to dive into the game's world. That being said, the game sill has its moments, as characters and story are quite interesting, thanks to the good voice acting. The problem is that thet game's price tag just isn't right.

It reminds me a lot of Beyond: Two Souls, many reviewers are stupid, they should rate the game on what it's trying to do, and not every game has to punish you when you make mistakes, I rarely die in Shenmue or Beyond TS, and in this game fighting demons can be hard.
Clueless reviewers will kill unique games, a generic shooter will not get less than 7/10, it's sad that the fate of the industry is in the hands of these reviewers, we need to do something about them.
I liked it more than the overrated Infamous Second Son.
You liked the game, good for you, but the cat sequences are laughable I'm sorry: 10-year-old animations, scripted path, terribly poor hit detection, 10-year-old on screen indications letting you know where you can jump, etc. It may be a good idea at the start, but it's so poorly executed that it makes the rat sequences of Lord of Shadows incredibly well done in comparison.
There are good ideas in the game, really. There are also nice characters and atmosphere, but in the end it's a huge letdown when you think what it could have been. Even at a cheap prise, some are bound to regret their purchase. I can see what the developers were trying to do and they probably did their best with the budget they were given, but I can't possibly advise anyone to buy the game at full price considering all its shortcomings.
This game has more going on in it than say anything that telltale has made... telltale's games always get high marks for some reason.
My biggest complaint is how short it seems to be. i still have 4 main "missions" but i've only played about 5 hours to get to this point (i have most of the collectibles too) so i think i have about 3 or 4 hours left. Pretty damn short
Overall i enjoyed it, i paid less then the price ground zero's released at and got about 5 times the playtime out of it. Platinumed it so probably won't play it again, but if you can get it cheap, i'd go for it. It's LA noire/heavy rain/ walking dead all mixed up with a dash of ghost trick. Not bad.
A good exemple of other games like this would be Nier & Drakengard 3. Very interesting games with great characters and story but they are low budget games with dated visuals.
So clueless gamers? Nope, I'm just not impressed with big graphics. Sorry.
