The best part of Fallout 3 was the exploration, -finding new areas, talking to locals, getting quests etc. Operation Anchorage ditches that, and instead turns Fallout into a linear FPS shooting wave after wave of identikit soldiers. It gets boring pretty quickly, so I guess it's just as well you can finish this up in about 3 hours or so.
Hopefully the next DLC pack will be more like Fallout, and less like a generic linear FPS clone.
But this DLC is a pure combat simulator, that's what it's supose to be...in game too =)
i thought this DLC was basically going to be an extention of the normal map, with new quests and towns and storys..........
:(
@ moroboshi

I have to agree with moroboshi, the combat is clearly the weakest point of Fallout 3. While it's clearly decent it's just not the first thing i'd want more of in an expansion, you know?
awwwwwwwww..............

I still have plenty to do in Fallout 3, so don't see myself buying this. Am I right in saying that this isn't the 'main' DLC? Or is it?
Seems you should wait for 'Broken Steel' then [1 March 2009], with a new level cap of 30 too.
thanks, i knew there was more to come, but i didnt think they would be so soon! thats great.
Correct, neither 'Operation Anchorage' nor 'The Pitt' [1 February 2009] is, however 'Broken Steel' [1 March 2009] seems to be more of a "main" DLC and continues the adventure past the main quest. ...so I bet this one will cost us a bit more...

Wow! I really hope you're wrong on that. I was really looking forward to Broken Steel, but if it costs more than 800mp then count me out. It would have to be absolutely gigantic to warrent anything more than that. As moroboshi stated, he paid $10 for this one and finished in about 3 hrs. Compare that to $60 for the full game that can easily last over 100 hrs and it's obvious that this, as with most dlc, was grossly overpriced. I agree with Firewire, 200-400mp would've been more reasonable.
I loved it.... ill probably go throught it with my level 20 but... wheres the fun in that
(totally worth it for me : D)
ps. it took about 4-5.5 hours but i kinda rushed
