awesome. Going to be the best looking console game out i reckon..more impressive that they're aiming to keep 60fps.

I just hope it plays alot better than doom 3 and quake 4 did

I'm a bit skeptical ... combat looks so old-school, I know it's ID, and that's their schtick, but I'm not sure that's my thing anymore. Besides, as much as I like wasteland-worlds, this one doesn't seem to click with me. Enemy animations look a bit off, and weapon design looks super generic.
Maybe I'll have to pass on this one.

looks very fluid, but kinda typical ID at the same time (low poly with a crap ton of normal maps) the world looks so static too. the giant bastard of a mutant ran straight at the car and it didn't move at all. combat doesn't look all that exciting either. still not sold, but already this is visually a lot more consistent looking then crysis 2. in the screens it looks exactly like borderlands too.

Well it looks great but pretty typical. This is what I would expect going from Doom 3 in 2004 to 2011. No surprises here. I see their games still look basically the same. Low poly models, some muddy textures, nice lighting, plastic weapons. It's just not much of anything new. How about trying out some different shader effects? Or maybe creating some new ones? Although this is better looking than KZ games overall, after playing KZ games I expect gaming worlds to be a bit more animated and less static.

The cartoony animation could use some work too. I'm only critical because I expect a lot from this game and I'm sure once I am playing it these things will be overlooked and I'll be pretty amazed overall. I hope it once again pushes consoles past the bar set so far with Crysis 2. I'll be playing the PC version though.

i like the animations, as i said, really fluid. cartoony? sure, i GUESS you could describe them as that, but then the game clearly has a very exaggerated art style, it fits well imo. not all games have to strive for realism. i just wish the world had more movement/interactivity, cos that's the killer so far visually. it's just so rigid and static looking.

I wanna see some actual gameplay from PC because that doesn't look anywhere near crysis 2 >.< I hope this game lives up in the graphics department. I've been comparing crysis 2 with rage.

Come oN rage !

I really love the look of this game, I can see this taking the crown as best looking console game away from Crysis 2. The art style is, IMO, fantastic but the gameplay is what has me not so confident. The game looks like it has plenty of great ideas, it's just a matter of will the combat feel really fun or will it feel stale like it did in Doom 3?

This will be 60fps so as long as it looks better than COD it is enough I guess lol. It will run silky smooth. Crysis2 looks great but poor animations, fps drop and glitches are there in it.

Yeah, that stuck out to me. I don't need the car to go flipping or anything, but a bit of movement to show that the massive enemy actually has some momentum while moving would be great.

Also, I'm not diggin the vehicular parts.

This game looks like it is coming out of a time machine it is very nostalgic for those that have played all the ID game and many fps that followed them. even the weapon work looks like it is from that guy that used to do the design for doom and quake and he went on to do daikataka which failed. Anyone my point is this game looks dated and carmack customizes his engines too much himself and as a result the physics are unpolished and displaced when someone is shot, but there is still a lot of developement time hopefully it improves but I played what seems to be hundreds of these type of games and I will remain on the fence.

Now this game looks bad ass. I was playing Limbo a few days ago and realised that I know this part of the game and I've seen this part of the game. So I only flicked through this video because I don't want to ruin anything for myself. Might be doing that a lot more often now as some of these games are spectacular but only ruined by watching too many trailers and chunks of walkthroughs of levels.

I agree with the static environment comments. I understand the more dynamic your environments get, the bigger the hit your graphics take, but still. Seeing that big fella hit that car and have zero effect on it, was a bit of a buzz kill.

The old school gun play doesn't faze me as long as they nail the atmosphere. Which it looks like they've got buckets of.
