Now that the embargo on video content has been lifted, we can finally share some raw gameplay footage of Dragon’s Dogma 2. The reviews seem to have been pretty positive from what we've seen, but quite honestly we're not quite sure we should be happy about. Indeed, in our humble opinion, this reboot of the twelve-year-old original game doesn't really improve what needed to be apart from the visuals and some design choices don't really appeal to us. It's obviously rather subjective of course, but we wish enemies wouldn't pop up every two seconds to give us a chance to enjoy exploration. Technically, the decision not at least propose an option to lock the framerate at 30 fps is something we don't understand and we really hope a patch will allow it in the future. Resolution wise, we'd be surprised if the console versions run much higher than 1080p, which would explain the soft look. Anyway, there's still fun to be had obviously, but the game doesn't always make it very easy and it's a bit of a shame.
