I hope this turns out as good as it looks. If it manages to be even remotely as intense and engrossing as heavy rain, i know i'll love it. Also, is that david cage training ellen page in the second image...lol.

So i hear they might have some realtime action gameplay? mixed in with all the heavy QTE gameplay, need to see it in action though, as Heavy Rain bored the hell out of me.

There are no QTE prompts this time around according to the info posted on VG24/7. You move with the left stick, interact with the right stick. There is a short gameplay video too, looks a bit more "traditional" i supose you could say. He's saying 12-15 hours too, longer then heavy rain...fuck yeah.

There are button prompts for certain actions and conversations and in a sense the action sequence shown where the action slows and you respond by moving the stick can still be considered a "quick time event" but instead of it saying here press this button now! its more like, here's your chance to do what you need to do.

I dont have a problem with any of it. I know what kind of experience this is meant to be and the way they are doing it seems appropriate imo.

JASON!

Seriously, looks great but i'm very skeptical to how it will turn out. Imo all the games made by quantic dream are ambitious, but have some HUGE flaws that undermine any good intentions they might have had. Mainly the story element o suppose. They should hire a real writer :P

Combat seems cool. Bit more thought involved in reading how an enemy will attack and then responding in the most appropriate way. I'd have been happy with either approach given the fact heavy rain still stands out as an incredibly unique game with only walking dead being similar.

Did you enjoy walking dead? if so there really is no reason you wouldn't enjoy something like this...

They're essentially the same thing, only one adapts to your choices whether you succeed or fail, the other offers choices, but doesn't really change anything.

QTE's are a cancer on games and Cage makes games that are kind of completely based around them...

I don't think that is my thing at all but I may check out a demo if they release one, played the Heavy Rain demo and was forced to conclude that it was incredibly dull, like a poor man's Shenmue.

Still, to each his own and kudos to Cage for at least attempting something outside the existing norms, even if it seems like a grand and beautiful failure to me.

Phenomenal visuals, but I have serious doubts over the story this time. Cage is going back into fantasy land, which never works when set in the real world.
