With Gamescom on its way, EA decided to tease Need For Speed Rivals a bit with only five new screenshots. It's not much but it's safe to say EA's press conference on Tuesday will reveal a lot more about the game.

This game is more than likely going to be terrible. Just because Criterion stuck their heads in the development office for 5 seconds, looked at a screen and said "yep that is a racing game alright", does not mean it will be good. I'm sure Citerion are questioning why they aren't using a game engine designed from the ground up for such a genre instead of Frostbite 3, an engine never designed for such a style of game. Remember NFS The Run on Frostbite 2 which was supposed to be its main selling point? Look hoe awful that turned out made by mostly the same crew as Rivals.
Can't wait to see what Criterion have in the pot for Next Gen. I know they said 6 months ago they won't be going back to Burnout for a long long time :(
It is rumored they are working on another shooter, their first since Black.

Don't know what it'll play like.

But i'm hoping they don't drop anything because of the lack of gpu grunt on xboxone.

PS4 should look and run better.

What makes you think that this is made by the same people as "The Run?" Black Box is still active under a different name, and Ghost Games has a senior staff made up of DICE and Criterion vets.

It could turn out to be another stinker but I'd say it deserves a fair chance.

criterion have become a bit hit and miss now anyway, it's not like everything they touch turns to gold. paradise was awful, and most wanted was a sequel to it under a different name. hot persuit was good though, so i don't really see their input (or lack of) as a possitive or negative at this point.

i do like what i've seen of this though, and it's the only racer i have ordered.
