You've seen them in dirty scans, then on some big US websites, and finally, here they come, the first official multiplayer screenshots of the almighty Halo 3. And, in before, no, I won't say a word about the ugliness of the graphics. I'm not like that.

If you think this looks ugly what kind of games looks good?

We just hoped that halo 3 would be better looking then GoW,Mgs4 or crysis,but so far it hasn't still one of the better looking upcoming next gen game.

The game is stilll in early development. Give them time to perfect the graphics later next year.

It's the only one which wasn't a very high resolution render. In other terms, it's the only one showing precisely what the alpha looks like off the framebuffer.

Hmm, are you saying that others are rendered at higher then 720p and then downsized?

Yep (I did the downsizing myself, you can find the original shots on bungie.net).

It doesn't look much worst than Fall of Man in my own humble opinion, which is pretty impressive for a pre-alpha title. On top of that it looks freaking fun, that's why they're showing it off, not to mention the wow factor when people see the game in it's finished form.

Actually, the last pic (with red spartan and explosion) is 720p, at least on site. Perhaps Bungie shrinked it.

Then don't release the friggin' pics, for god's sake ! Am I supposed to say "Hoorah" ?

I didn't need to see these pics, to see the game like this. If it's gonna look better in the end, as I hope (and believe) it will, then what about waiting a bit instead of releasing screenshots that will harm your hype ? I just don't understand, and I'm disappointed. This is not the Halo 3 I wanted to see, sorry for saying it and not crawling on the floor like the Halo fanboy I'm supposed to be.

Yep, build the engine and use your older textures while the new art sets and levels are designed...

This is letting them start working out serious gameplay issues and balancing at a very early stage. Welcome to the alpha stage. Although you can clearly see how the explosions, ground textures, and a few other things are looking a lot nicer.

They are showing it cause it's what people want to see...

some people here need to replay Halo2.
And just not just upload some very nice halo2 pics,just play the game and come back and compare to it.
And as someone uploaded that bungie pic,with giant image,looks amazing.

I play Halo 2 all the time at LANs. I went through alot of SP again after the 1080p update too. Sure, they look better than Halo 2, but definately not by much. These screens after the impressive E3 trailer send mixed impressions, and come across unto my eyes as a swift kick in the nuts.
