Lost Odyssey TV Ad

It looks like Microsoft is trying to do actually market Lost Odyssey, at least compared to the almost invisible marketing campaign of the sent to die Blue Dragon. This extended TV ad certainly reminds me in a way of the excellent way they marketed Gears of War, with a song that had little to do with the actual game, but that would everyone easily remembers. I sure still think of GoW's ad when I hear Charles Jules' Mad World. Hopefully this will be the same for Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit if Microsoft does this right.

Yep, great game. I played 8h straight yesterday. Has some minor issues but overall damn nice. I recommend for everyone! :)

And the first time I was glad that I live in PAL area, I hope that in the future they release games simultaneously more often. For example I hate to wait great games like jeanne d'arc ( I imported already that though ). It released in August in Usa but no PAL release date has been even announced yet... importing games and region free ftw o/

I really like this song, it's beautiful, especially kicks in halfway through..

I don't know why, but it just doesn't suit the trailer, maybe it is cause i've heard what Nobuo Uematsu did for the game. The intro music and scene alone is so powerful, if they used that music for the ad it would've felt more powerful in my view

it had a sense of lost, hope, survive, live theme to it

Hopefully ps3 will be similar to what ps2 was for jrpg fans and massive japan games. since ps3 is region free, no need to worry about release dates. Hope microsoft takes this route as well. There are alot of importers out in the market

The game is so fucking awesome, I´m on the second boss and I´really impressed with all I have seen for now. This really keeps Psx Final Fantasy´s esence, no doubt. Thanks Mistwalker^^

I was excited before and now I am even more excited :). But strange music for advertising a Jrpg tho, why not use one of Nubuo uemetsu's tracks or the song from the actual ost?

Genius. Did Emiliana Torrini do a cover of this song, cause I only know her version of white rabbit. I thing this song fits the trailer better than mad world fit GoW. I thought that ad was kinda gay:p

the music killed the mood (one of my fave drug referencing 70's songs)..what i know of the story and what the words of the song are saying don't jive..like a DBZ AMV using a Frank Sinatra tune.. way to tell your games composer that you think his music isn't good enough to sell the game.

Well I guess the best way to advertise a game with gameplay straight from oldschool rpgs is to not show the gameplay at all. So overall I guess it is a good ad.

I doubt the game will sell well given the fact that Mass Effect is still selling well right now.
