The teaser of God of War: Ascension released a few days ago is finally available in high quality. Not much to see of course, but enough to make us all impatient to see what the game has in store for us.
Note: Sony has just announced that a single-player demo will be available in late February.

The single player demo will be out shortly, we'll know for sure at that time.
But GoW Ascension has a "smoother" look compared to GoW3 thats what i noticed, especially one Kratos himself.

So did they take a small portion from an already explored aspect of the franchise and cram dynamite down its throat?

It's a genuinely innocent question as I really have no idea. It's the spin-offs that are confusing me.

The question is, do I care to learn about how Kratos became aligned with Ares and the story right after that? A lil' bit.

GOW1 told us how kratos and his spartan army where getting owned by some barbarian army, so he called upon ares to help him win, and in return ares would use kratos to do his bidding. Which is what he did. Even tricked him into killing his family, of which their ashes are bound to his flesh (hence ghost of sparta) what makes it a bit confusing. Is that based on what we've seen, kratos is aligned with ares, hes killed his family (he's white skinned) and is out to kill the god of war...but you already did that in GOW1. So even though aresmust still be around in this game, he can't be the ultimate villain, because you already fought him in the first game.
Unless some of the game takes place before ares even got involved. In which case we might be seeing kratos as a normal spartan, not the ghost of sparta with the chain blades, what we've seen might be later in the game? Basically we might acually play the "flashback" cutscenes that the first games showed us. The fight with the barbarian army, killing your family, getting cursed, the process of having the chain blades bound to your arms etc. could be the transition from spartan, to ghost of sparta...hope thats the case at least.
Loved GoW 1 and 2, third part had few good moments, but overall was kinda disappointing compared to old stuff. I still have yet to see something really promising about Ascension...
