I don't think anyone doubted it, but now it's confirmed, Killzone 3 will be a monster graphically, like these 9 high resolution images tend to prove. The water is especially incredible in some shots.

and KZ2 is definitly not the best looking game on consoles...I just have to mention Uncharted 2
PS: there ist nothing I see on this screens that looks better than Gears of War 3 on the new screens
Looking forward to play both games.
The rest is what was added, the game looks like the first with asofter color plaete to ajust with the new storm/windy direction. The scale indidded is more spacious than KZ2, but s I see it none of those shots have the much ammount of stuff going on screen in terms of battle.

And to Aphex187 above, I am one of those Xbox 360 fanboys... but can give credit where credit is due. Dont lump all Xbox 360 gamers into one category, as a good portion of those gamers have PS3's also. By doing that, you end up sounding like a fanboy yourself. Each system has its strengths and weaknesses. If anyone has to justify their purchase by slamming the other system, they arent real gamers. If they were, they would appreciate technological advances on any platform.
I would love to play the Resistance games and Little Big Planet, but they are really the only games that interest me that arent cross-platform. When the PS3 hits the $150 mark, I will certainly buy one, just to play Resistance 1&2 and Little Big Planet 1&2.

Textures might not be the best but everything else looks fantastic, especially the lighting when you see a character go from shadow to light and go to shadow and you see their shadow reflection on ground or wall, just beautiful.
And dont get me started on atmosphere, one of the best atmospheric games I ever played, fantastic!
Just to say that it doesnt matter how high texture resolution is, there are always "tricks" to fool our eyes to make the game look great (Kane & Lynch 2).
As soon as I saw the first screens of KZ3 I got superhyped to play KZ2 MP again, after 10+ months, brilliant game...with some small flaws.
The gameplay has some issues (check the Main Forum thread), if they iron those out KZ3 will definitely be one of the best FPS games on consoles.
I am just happy they are making the maps bigger, more responsive controls (still has the weight to it which I am fine with) and some more stuff.
GG said that Killzone 3 will be 10x bigger than a full Killzone 2 level, have jungle, arctic and some industrial levels and end up in space.

second: there is far too much AAA, no consolegame has so much AAA...
the same happened to the official Uncharted 2, Gears of War 2, Alan Wake and Splinter Cell: Conviction Screens compared to the final game...

I remember when they released one patch on Killzone 2 images and later on GG said there were "doctored".
I read that Naughty Dogs isnt working with GG on Killzone 3.
But jungle, yes its good, but it depends how the level is designed and all. Atmosphere is everything, GG is good at creating that IMO.
But me personally I like more snow and arctic scenery, seems more epic when you see a snowstorm clear out the closer you get to something like say a big facility infront of you and when you come in with ships and land on the ground you see a huge snow wave just blow away from the ship, pretty awesome (Killzone 2 had this effect with dust and cloud).
Besides GG said that people said that Killzone 2 had alot of industrial look and not enough variety and they mentioned this in their interviews a few times that they are definitely changing that :)

as for the AA. just look at the GOW3 thing over at eurogamer, where they judge the visuals of games. it's a visual trick admitidly, but if overall it LOOKS better then 16xMSAA, then that's all that really matters. MSAA is too resource hungry so current consoles can only really do 4x max. either way it's better then what killzone 2 uses which was great in the sense it smoothed out edges really well, but it also blurred the geometry itself, hence the blurry textures.

MLAA 16X AA is being used as it was in God of War 3, Naughty Dog is OBVIOUSLY helping them with texture manipulation. Their first party studios are all working together to make a show piece for the PS3 hardware. Microsoft could do the same thing but they don't. (which is odd because they have more money to piss away on these pet projects)
