I've been waiting for this since they shut down MGS 3 servers. Those who don't understand how MGO works never will, but those who will certainly enjoy it for what it's worth.

Good thing the starters pack is free with 5 maps, so I will definitely put this game into a test.
From what I have seen it looks to be very fun, and it has a neat detail gear customization, much more than GRAW, but more like Rainbow Six Vegas.

Japan + (Online) Shooters = Fail IMHO...

Watch the MGS3 online game and you get the basic idea, but expect new features for MGO because its newer.

I enjoy the approach konami is taking with this. But i can't help but believe that 1) Japanese don't make good online shooters. and 2) the controls are really clunky.

So true.Again true but if this had the xbox live features for private matches with friends there would be no doubt in my mind that this game would be played the way its meant to be and not run , spray and pray which it will most likely turn out with most children however still cant wait.

I bought Subsistence right after they shut down the servers so I never got to try out MGO. I'm going to pre-order MGS4 though, and will definitely try out MGO2 through the beta.

I don't think Halo was overrated at all. In fact, I feel that negative reviews, especially concerning #3, were as such to stir shit up and counter the hype.

I don't like MGS and never have, but I'd understand if...or rather I WILL understand WHEN this is rated favourably. Not my cup of tea doesn't equate to not everyone else's.

Wow, those animations are in the rank of Too Human right there.

I really hope these aren't going to be the kind of animations seen in the final game. Everyone runs around and moves like a robot LOL. Just like the guards in the single player trailer and past MGS games. I don't get how Kojima can hire the best cinematographers in the business, and then hire third-rate animators. It just baffles me.

And I'm not too sure about how the online gameplay would fare. I mean, SC works great online, and we know MGS4 is trying hard to become SC in its controls and camera functionality, but tacking on an online mode is going a bit too far. It hasn't really worked for MGS yet, and it doesn't look much better now. At least from what we've seen so far......and that's BAD.
