GSD: Splinter Cell Conviction

GSD: Splinter Cell Conviction

Finally, here is our last Ubidays Gamersyde Diaries. I know, we're damn late, but you'll understand that between putting everything together for E3 and adding the final touches of Gamersyde.com, we had a lot on our hands. Anyway, here's our feature about the fifth episode of Ubisoft's biggest franchise, including high-def' footage, our impressions as well as a piece of David Sarrasin, license manager since the first Splinter Cell. Enjoy !

As a Long time Splinter Cell fan of 1-3. I'm not the least bit interested or even excited.
Meh

There are sooo many better looking and playing games coming out this year.
Splinter Cell honestly who cares anymore?
To me this isn't even Splinter Cell it's Angry Hobo Luke Smith from 1up yours beating the crap out of everything and throwing chairs around like a ADD.

I totally agree that everything in the environment is way too contrived and there's not many alternatives. Hopefully, the game will open up more possibilities to create a diversion later on.

PS. The guy's French accent is a bit weird. I take it he's an American (no offense).

You all just keep doing what you're doing... you run the best damn Xbox site that I visit and it is very much appreciated... from the media... to the well modded forums, this site is wonderful. I recommend this site to anyone with a xbox... and I can't wait to see what your new site has in store.

How can you not like Double Agent? It's my favorite Splinter Cell (I played all of them of Xbox 1). Even if you opinion varies whether it's the best or not, you have to agree that it is a classic Splinter Cell and excluding it is weird. I didn't play 360 version, heard it was a bit different.

maybe 1) he hasn't played it or 2) opinions vary ;)

im glad they are doing something different with the series =)

the new lighting engine seems to be cool. some kind of ambient occlusion or something:)
(when he gets close to a wall for example) very nice!

Assassin's Creed.
could be, but this is splinter cell. splinter cell has a completely different story, and this is how people make good games by taking ideas from others games that people love so much and add their own version of it. splinter cell is way different from assassins creed due to the "secret plot" in assassins creed and the setting of the crusade ages or watever. and splinter cell is pretty much the guy running from the fuzz now. they both will handle differently and i have to say that this game looks pretty badass.

i got a good laugh from this video wen they showed the gameplay and Sam threw a small box at the officer and fell down. lol i hope they fix that because that makes the enemies look really weak.

Are you kidding me? every SC game has had the worst multiplayer.
And Double Agent was good, but it lacked the response time and over all believability of its predecessors.
They've never had decent co-op play, and frankly the more they change the game, less interesting it becomes. When you stray to far from the original idea, it is no longer an original idea.

"When you stray to far from the original idea, it is no longer an original idea."

I really hope you meant to say...

"When you stray to far from the original idea, it is no longer THE original idea."

Because last I checked, the closer and more often one "sticks" to an original idea, the less and less original it becomes. Yes this is different from Splinter Cell; that's kind of the point. They've done what they set out to do with the original concept and now they're doing something else...I much prefer that mentality to a "Splinter Cell 2008", "Splinter 2009" ploy.
