Xbox 360 PS3

Codemasters is still very generous with the medias of GRID, with this time a trailer showing the various tracks and activities available to play in Japan.

the japanese drifting course in the demo is quite nice - currently my record is at ~1 million points there

At one point the competing cars meet a normal car on the road, I wonder if that will be in the final game. At 0:32.

Personally I hate the drifting. Its the one thing in the game I am not looking forward too.

Honestly, I expected something completely different from this game.

Its as bad as Ridge Racer. The physics are terrible, the handling is awful and so is the braking system. If I tap the breaks, I'll spin out.

It's a great shame, because I loved TOCA 3. Even DiRT is a far superior game to GRID.

ah scrap the 1 million - I just now made a combo with more than 1.38 million points alone - the whole 3 laps was 2.23 million points in total

hehe my best record in the demo was a 3 lap drifting without breaking the combo with a result of 12.9 million points. the drifting part is since juiced 2 and need for speed pro speed the best one

I LOVE this game, the camerawork is amazing. But one thing that bothers me are the engine sounds and the music. It sounds kind of low bitrate, but I hope that's only in the demo!

I personally think the drifting is awesomely fun it's easy but satisfying all the same. And since you mentioned your scores I shall do the same. I can usually get around 15 Million on average but 4 days ago I drifted the whole course without losing the combo (which went up to 42x) and got around 25 Million. but sadly it was a one shot deal and have not been able to reproduce it but I will try again will probably post a pic as proof.

It's definitely them trying to do something different than where the majority of racing games are at right now. Comparing it to what is out this generation is kind of a waste

demo was awesome a bit difficult to get into a MP match but that might have been my internet crapping up... love the graphics, like the arcade feeling i hate sims... its supposed to be fun, if i want to practice driving or street racing ill go do it in a real f*cking car.

Good point, I forgot to say about that MP. Quite horrible that you can't name your server. It's pain to try every server to find friends and when you go to wrong game and go back to server list it refreshes it... Hopefully the full game has better server stuff.

You must be doing something wrong then, Only time I've spun out is when braking in a corner. I personally think the physics are quite good for a sim/arcade hybrid. Been playing the PS3 version mainly, but I'm gonna give the 360 and P.C. versions a good work out this weekend :D

No off-road? :(

Thats my favourite type of racing. Back to DiRT then for that!

The damage modelling seems quite unforgiving. I totalled my car several times on the BMW circuit before getting anywhere.

Played both the PS3 and 360 versions a little bit more now. Both set up on my Panny 42PZ85 and TBH there all but identical. The 360 version has a little more HDR(High Dynamic Range Lighting). Than the PS3 version. Other than that I can't really see any difference. Both play smooth as silk.
Handling feels the same on both versions although I do seem to be able to get into 1st place faster on the 360 version. I don't know if that because it's a little easier or weather having the rumble on the pad is helping find the limit of the car?
But all in all out of the PS3 and 360 version I think I would plump for the 360 purely because of the rumble and LIVE being more sorted. Although I'm not entity sure if the 360 has as many players online as the PS3. The games I've played had 12 on the PS3 and only 8 on the 360 but that may have just been down to the host. I'll have to investigate that further.
