Trailer PS3

While some are already enjoying next gen sim racing with Forza 5, PS3 owners will be glad to play Gran Turismo 6 on their good old console, starting tomorrow. Sony France hadn't received the game when we contacted them today, so you'll have to be patient before you can see our gameplay videos.

Because there are 80 million PS3's out there and 2 million PS4's? Makes a ton of sense to me from a business standpoint. Really hoping they don't just port this game to PS4, I'd rather they create a proper sequel so I have a good racing game to buy (Lingering feeling that Driveclub is going to suck a fat one)

80mill? geeez.. that's a lot. Wonder what'll happen to them all. Makes you wonder just when the cut off point will be for supporting the old systems.. the sooner that is the sooner we start seeing the true potential of the current new generation.. but 80mill that's a lot of sales.

I think driveclub will be shit too.. its not the game they first revealed. But I really wish the ps4 was backwards compatible. Its simply not practical to own a new console and keep the old one still plugged in taking up space.

GT6 looks good. Its no forza 5 in terms of visuals. But there's a lot of content there. And if the online actually works this time and the menu's aren't completely fucked like gt5 then i'll pick this up for sure at some point.

Strange, second half is in 60fps but it motion is not perfect sometimes. and it's not my PC. looks like variable frame-rate.
maybe PD forgot that you need to go ONLY 60 fps or 30 fps because our displays are @60hz...

PC gamers have been saying this for years while console gamers told them to shut up, now you lot are doing the exact same thing "old hardware holding back new hardware", it's a completely rubbish excuse to blame the last gen consoles for the way graphics look in any game, up to the point when the new consoles launched PC games looked miles better yet every time the same excuse was used "why should i buy a PC when my console can run the game just fine", the level of hypocrisy here is just ridiculous.

Jak and Daxter The Lost Frontier and Uncharted 2 launched in 2009 within a month of each other. But yeah that PS2 game completely affected the outcome and finished product that was Uncharted 2. :S
You do know the PS2 ceased production in Jan 2013 right?

@r3tr0gam3r1337 He doesn't know what he is saying. I for one never said that. Uncharted 2 is still one of the best looking games of the last 5 years. And I am talking about its complex animation system. No matter how powerful your PC is, talent can't be made from specs. My display is 400hz ^_^

You two are idiots. We're not talking first party games, we're talking 3rd party..where the games are designed to fit the lowest common denominator. PC PORTS haven't pushed pc hardware..they may look better in resolution and a few bells and whistles, but they've always and will always be limited by a design that's made to fit the weakest platform. The sooner we see multiplatform games that don't cater to last gen the sooner we'll see games pushed beyond resolution and graphical tweaks. AC4 may look better on PS4 ect but its animations, AI, world size/population is the same as that of the ps3 version.. do you see what i'm getting at?

yeah i see exactly what your getting at but please take some time to see the massive flaw in that statement "The sooner we see multiplatform games that don't cater to last gen the sooner we'll see games pushed beyond resolution and graphical tweaks", TDU which was released on the 360 first was then later released on the PS2, now tell me again why you are in this fantasy belief that older hardware limits what the current hardware can do!.

I grew up with GT but I'm not going to support a full price game with microtransactions. Others can enjoy the grind all they want

Also worth noting the 60fps is a lie. AFAIK both GT5 and GT6 replays are 30fps. Only the actual race is 60fps. So this 60fps footage isn't really from a retail PS3

Yeah eff a developer that delivers on one of the most important technical aspects in videogames. A stable framerate. The mightytransactions do suck though. Some of the prices for things are outrages. Even 7mil credits is $49.99 on PSN store.

Then I've got a bad news for you mate - you probably will give up on games in a very short period of time.

Also this video a copy from retail version opening movie %) so 60fps movie on ps3 version %)

According to the eurogamer review (9/10) they said the pay-4-credits is non obtrusive. They're not in the game at all, the credit packs are kept seperate on PSN...they say the in-game econemy is exactly the same as GT5. And if you didn't check out PSN, you wouldn't even know they had "microtransactions". They're not doing what forza are doing, which is dangling a carrot in front of your nose, expection you to either spend 60hours to unlock a single RECOMMENDED car, while in the game itself, or pay for tokens to speed things up.

Based on what eurogamer have said, they're doing it like battlefield (you can pay to unlock every weapon and attatchment) and other games have done it. Ie. Progress is normal, as it should be, not artificially extended to add value to their pay-for credit packs...but the credit packs are there if you have less time.

If you could deal with the grind of GT5, then you'll be fine dealling with the grind of GT6...since they're the same. Having credit packs avaliable completely external from the game shouldn't really change that...

Looks like there are a ton of tracks from what I have read. The graphics are a disappointment but it still looks really damn fun and I hear the career mode is much better this time. I'll probably pick this up when I get tired of rivals.

Technically it is great and overall it is better than GT5 but the softer look like the shadows and the cockpit is evident. The game is too much for PS3 to handle I guess.

GTA V was too much for the 7th gen consoles to handle yet GT6 with several graphical improvements with a higher native res and the game still runs at 60 fps, this will be the only racing game that looks this good on the PS3.

Absolutely. Full marks for trying. Not many would bother that they are trying to do. I remember when Grid was released. Looked amazing on console except the yellow filter which was annoying. It looked great. 720P 30 fps and 8 cars was the norm of racing games. GT they tried to crank up the res, 16 cars, variable weather and time of day. With PS4 they should be able to achieve it.
