Horrible attempt to turn a tech demo into a full game.

Someone needs to call the waaaaaaambulance for all of these whiners who think all games should cater to them.
The game looks fine, in fact is looks kinda fun in a 3D platformer sort of way.

Agree with Baku and KORN, i may know nothing about marketing but you must be hell confident to bet on Knack as a defining launch title. It looks all right but... as PSN Vita game.

I do understand why it's there though, have you seen the other titles? They're all aimed at teens and adults. This is sony ticking the box called "kids game"

To be fair, it hasn't been front and centre since the reveal. They showed no footage at the conference. Mind you, they gave too much time to Ubi stuff, eventhough they demoes pretty well.

Last I checked, they revealed a ton of indie ports, a couple of indie originals, a new racing game, Killzone Next (or whatever it's called), Knack, Infamous and a slew of other aimed-at-aggro-males games.

I don't see how the existence of Knack somehow impedes anyone's "next gen-ness". Hell, it actually shows some diversity sorely lacking.

If you think Knack is the "first PS4 game", you haven't been paying attention.

That said, I don't think it looks "amazing". I wonder why every shot is so ambient. Shadows, please???

KORN seems to be right here, a game aimed at parents solely to trick them into considering PS4 as a christmas present for their little monsters. That's totally understandable. But due to way Knack was revealed as the first (i may be wrong) title back in February when maximum attention and hence judgement/critisism was aimed at Sony, majority of people, me included, roll their eyes in perplexity. If it would have been announced today along with Fez, Resogun etc nobody would ever say a thing.

I don't even mind this was the first game shown at the reveal conference back in feb, something more light hearted and fun is welcome imo, it was more the fact it was Cerny that is at he helm. He's the guy responsible for the architecture itself, you'd think it would look a little better? Maybe that's the problem. A tech guy in the role of designer. Doesn't quite work. I will say though, the glass in this game looks unbelievable. And the amount of physics based objects flying around is impressive. But it's all impressive in the same way a disembodied floating head is impressive. As a tech demo, not a game.

Umm.. you clearly don't know who Mark Cerny is (Google's your friend, if you don't).

He made Marble Madness (as a Designer AND Programmer).
And Crash Bandicoot (as a Designer).
Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet and Clank, etc... etc...
Not to mention consulting on many games.

So... it's probably best not to assume in many cases.
