i liked the creases in their shirts near the start. from the typical gameplay camera though it just looks like the same game from last year. i was hoping movement would be more fluid.

Many thanks for the video. But the game itself looks really disappointing.. I see no different at all with current-gen. Player movement looks identical.

FIFA 13 wasn't much different to FIFA 12, either; they're running out of ideas. Sometimes you can't help but feel they're holding back on any new ideas and innovations to string them out over the years.

what are you on about lol FIFA14 is not for only Xbox One and it has no kinect functions...

people saying it looks the same.. yeah lets see if it FEELS the same, thats the important thing. lets not forget we barely see anything in this vid, there was no shots, no set pieces, nothing that interesting happened. ofcourse things like passing isnt gonna be drastically different.

Improvements will be more noticeable when you're looking at the screen head on from a few feet away vs. via off-screen cam.

There's another off-screen cam video on Youtube that shows much improved animations and ball physics. Still very low quality to tell much. Also a few Messi/Aguero goal videos that show more natural shooting animations.

Damn them EA peeps. If i was allowed to film it there'd be NO WAY i was NOT going to show it, that's how i would handle it. They should've forbidden filming in the 1st place

Hmm, yeah. This is a classic example of a cash grab. Instead of doing the sensible thing like Konami have done by not releasing their game in the first year, it looks like EA have just done a straight port. All the models are the same fidelity as the current gen version. It might have some higher res normals for the shirts and a tiny bit of kit deformation, but that's about it. There might also be better transitions for animations, but nothing amazing. I'm personally more impressed with PES' new animation sets to be honest. They look set at the correct speed at least. I'm not knocking Fifa's animations. They've always been second to none, but you'd expect more from a leap in hardware. It's absolutely nailed on that this game will have the same massive - and almost game breaking - flaws that the previous Fifa's have had, most notably in the AI side of things, which they haven't addressed since, well, forever.

I'd give it about 2 years before we see anything significant with the new engine. It's no wonder they are shipping this free with a limited number of consoles, but you can bet your bollocks this will retail for the full shilling.

I don't get the hate. You don't /have/ to buy the latest update. You can always play FIFA 13 and just download squad updates, no?

There are tons of gamers who will be purchasing their first FIFA with a new next-gen console. Would you rather they buy an older version of the game? Cause that would be dumb. Sure, improvements are incremental at best, but they're still improvements and make for a better (and better looking) game.

Just skip a year if you don't feel like buying the latest and greatest. Others have the option.

Shame you skipped all the cutscenes, because then people could have seen the huge leap in visuals. Overhead shot of the full stadium, glimpses of the crowd, unbelievably realistic broadcasting angles. Atmosphere and presentation have been the two points of annoyance for me when it came to FIFA in the past, but it now looks an absolute joy.
