Urgh, I hate the latest trailers from this game. Looks like the typical lame, MS videos where they show Avatars, Netflix, The whole family infront of the TV, games for him, games for her, games for mom and other shit I don't care about. Maybe its that voice. He sound so corporate.

Anyway my LE is hopefully (It better be) dropping down in the mailbox tomorrow. Then Im going to play the shit out of this game!Yamauchi himself has said that Gran Turismo 5 looks better than real-life, so he doesn't appreciate people saying it looks real.

What he means by that?

This is only the second racer to ship on two discs right? IIRC GT2 was on two CDs

Anyway after that demo I canceled my gamefly order but I may put it back on there later. Cockpit view is just too hideous

@IRAIPT0IR: That in life you don't get perfect light, cleanliness, etc. in GT5, the cars appear more vivid and clean than in real life. *better* than real life. apparently.

GT5 does look superb. Got Forza 3 delivered today in the UK. Plays well. I like the way the career progresses via a calendar format. Only got a few cars so far. I have to say the nurburing looks great, looks life like but many tracks look like they were designed by the Sega Sonic artists. pure yellow, pure green grass, pure blue etc. Way too much contract.

You don't see that in GT5P and the cockpit view. Such a shame Turn 10 didn't implement it well. I use this view in all racing titles but I have to use bonnet cam in FM3 as there is more immersion that way.

That said the AI in FM3 is far far better and the customisation options.

Overall its a great game so far but early days for me. Though of course I will be picking up GT5 also.

It lets you slide back the camera view in cockpit mode, so you don't have to sit bent over the damn steering wheel. The customization is better in some ways, but they also made it worse. Whats up with no change in sound on different exhaust pipes?

@zlimness: thanks I just googled it. I will give it a try next time. Looks like you can get further away which looks better. That said there's no proper hand animations either which is a shame.

but hey, none of this is a deal breaker. It still provides a good race.

God ppl are so anal about pointless things it surprises me.
If you take a screenshot of a PC game with 16x AA, while you usually play with 8x AA for extra framerate, does that make the screenshot less real?

Cheesy as hell commercial but the game does look great and its fair to say it is the best racer so far this gen. It will continue to enjoy that status for the time being, at least until next march or so...

Just couldn't resist bringing up the other game huh? And it's March only in Japan, others are gonna have to wait a while longer.

More time with FM3 this evening. Up to only the C class season but its getting better. Faster cars and its starting to feel fun. Esp with the better tracks later on in the season. Some tracks look absolutely superb.

What's impressing me, coming from GT5P is the audio. Some of the V8 cars in bonnet cam, sound sweet. Plus the painting aspect is quite adictive.

Colour me more impressed than I was on initial play through.
