Anyone who doesn't understand why people are excited for this game needs to watch these videos. The graphics & framerate look amazing. Truly non-linear gameplay. The AI looked great in the videos too.

Top notch graphics, no doubt about it and very nice physics and fire propagation ....etc .... but by the gods there are some thrown in little things that bug me. the car fixing thing ... pretty much useless, they could have made the fixing into a little mini game BUT NO, what you have to do is the same thing to every car which is just ridiculous IMO. Why not have something similiar to the safe hacking in Bioshock for example ?

Still, the game is looking really good but throwing in things like these just for the sake of throwing them in really annoys me in game design.

Does someone know newer sources about which console version looks better? I have read some saying PS3 Version has got better AA and such, but its funny that all press demos were made with the 360 version.

I preordered the 360 CE and hope it was the right decision ;)

The only thing i didn't like was that the medkit didn't disappear from the shelf when he grabbed it.(vid 1) :D

Cant we leave the comparisons, they are completely unrelated games and can be appreciated on there on merit. Personally I think R2 looks better graphically, but this has a more impressive scale.

Shadowing looks pretty sterile here.

Though granted, Resistance 2 opts for the "realistic" (which turns out to be unrealistic) brown boring desaturated look. Im sure if we desaturated Farcry 2, and added a brown-filter to it, it would look pretty similar..

now this doesnt make any sense...a few previews have commented that far cry 2 could be the brownest game of the year...actually thats one of my main beefs with the game...everything is brown...Ive been to parts of africa during dry season and the scenery is very brown and dessicated but people, buildings etc can be colourful...everything here is browned out.... R2 is very colourful, some people are saying too colourful, think your tripping on this one...not on shrooms though, some monochrome stuff

I'll agree that anyone who wants to bash Resistance 2 for its lack of color, yet is really fond of the visual style of Far Cry 2, doesn't really have a leg to stand on.

Resistance doesn't take place in Africa, FarCry 2 takes place in a place where everythingis covered in the exact same color dust, and everything is either brown or redish orangish brown, yellow, or brown. You'll notice that FarCry 2 is very colorful in the jungles and such, just that they realize how it really looks where the game takes place.
But Resistance at least the new one, is hardly the most lacking of games when it comes to color. Such as the black and white KZ2, which uses every trick in the book to cover up shoddy textures and poor models, even if it does have flashy effects and neat motionblur (lets be honest people, its hyperactive motionblur, standing still your gun blurs for christ's sake). Don't get me wrong, I think the game is sexy. But I hate people whining about slightly low color levels in Gears of War or what ever, when their fanboy ways prevent them from whining about a game which is pretty much literally BLACK AND FUCKING WHITE, with some green sun glare(incidently, wtf? looks cool but hurts my brain...) and garish orange effects.

Also, how many of the videos will there be? So I know when I can put em together and start watchin.

Compared with the PC version, I'm very unimpressed. Why? Because the console versions looked gimped.

The graphics are simply not as good as I thought. Let's hope it looks far better on direct-feed footage. But based on what I seen here, the visuals look pretty drab.

It's a golden AK, you get golden weapons in hidden places, they don't age as much as the normal ones ;)

From watching these videos I can come to one conclusion: Head on firefights are going to be the least fun parts of the game. The enemies just stand there or walk right up to you. What happened to the immersive AI? Remember the video where the player sniped a guard and grabbed the attention of another without exposing his position? That's what's going to sell this game. Unfortunately it seems like that kind of intelligence, even though it's faked, is completely void of when you've finally reached the heart of an enemy camp. Why aren't they taking cover? Flanking? Dodging? This kind of footage does not sell me a game at all, and I thank you for showing us what this game probably is going to look like most of the time.

I am still going to buy it because of the map editor and at least try to put some effort into pretending to be immersed, although I suspect I will regret it.

I've actually got it pre-ordered.. Just remembered. I'm all set! =)
