Something worth considering :)
I guess that video answers my day/night cycle question, but come on, the game has a weird look with the lack of shadows and yet it transitions into night--come on.
And the game itself looks also very interesting and definitely has an appeal beyond the core role playing audience. I think I´m gonna rent it at least.
r.i.p. fallout .
they've killed the game.

Ontopic: The game looks fairly good from a distance so to speak, when you get into more closed environments you can see that the game doesn't look any better than Oblivion. The fact that they had to leave out shadows to even get this level of graphics shows how their engine isn't evolving and not exactly future proof. it had already reached it's potential with Oblivion.
The animations ar just as awfull as they were in Oblivion and the facial animations are just as poor, just as the 2d looking characters. All very negative I know, but I'm still looking forward to this game. The same complaints apply to Oblivion, but I loved that game.
This looks like an Oblivion with guns and that's fine by me. If the gameplay is as deep as Oblivion, I'm definitely going to enjoy this one, I just hope the environments will be a little more diverse than the vids have been hinting at. I hope there will be plenty of surprising underground/secret forts/buildings/whatever as well...just to keep the adventure element fresh throughout the game.
The things that are concerning me about the visuals are the bland textures on anything but the landscape. And the very stiff animations.
The VATS i'm actually starting to like now..though how much variety in them may be a concern if this games gonna be as long as Oblivion was.
The conversation system is from the stone ages though.. i would of liked it if they had adapted it more in a Mass effect vain..and allowed you to manipulate the conversations more.
I really hope this game comes through its development ok..theres already hype on it, and the eurogamer hand on's arent in a positive light.
I also really want to see some vehicle sections..cause oblivion was a disgrace once you were on the horse in terms of frame rate dips
You have no idea what you are talking about.
this game is not true CRPG. it is just a mix of action & rpg. sorry, but i dont like such kind of games.
no, i dont think so.

Whats a true CRPG? Zelda was probably the first console role-playing game..and that was an action rpg.
im talking about PC style rpg's e.g. fallout 1,2 , baldur's gate , Planescape: Torment etc.

Still it's looking absolutely awesome. Loving the dismemberment.
One thing that annoyed me about Oblivion - those damn crabs! Looks like they're back in mutant form.
