Trailer PS3

Uncharted 3 was clearly the star of the show for Sony, so it's got priority for us too. Enjoy this great trailer!
Update: Added the gameplay filmed at Sony's press conference.

This made E3 worth watching on it's own. GOTY 2011 hands down.

Implying what was probably the best game at E3 is poor, troll.

actually we have incredibly high, exacting standards due to the past games in the series. we can't help it if uncharted 3 managed to exceed them.

Exactly. UC2 was the best received game in years, winning more awards than any other game in history. To say the fans expect anything other than the very, very best is stupid.

I'm just saying Uncharted fans care more for spectacle than mechanics. This is a kitsch Hollywood blockbuster after all, they can't add deep gameplay or they'd scare off the casual people who just want an interactive blockbuster.

Well that's not what you said, you implied the game itself was bad... A game doesn't need to have deep gameplay mechanics to be great. Go on then, what exactly about the gameplay mechanics would you change without ruining the feel of the game?

Oh and it's not kitsch at all. The level of storytelling and variety of sequences it presents you with are hardly a worthless imitation of anything else. It admittedly borrows from other games but packages those elements together in a way that is unique and is the very reason Uncharted is known to be so so great.

How about adding some skill to the brain-dead platforming so you'd actually feel in danger? Maybe some good enemy AI so you feel scared when you're pinned down behind cover instead of feeling like a Gears ripoff (and warrants Drake's animations moving his body away from gunfire)? How about actually brain-melting puzzles so you feel accomplished that you've found the treasure instead of letting the guide book do all the work?

That's just a few.

That would detract from the free-flowing action/adventure game that it is, so try again ;) Oh and the AI is more than fine as it is. There aren't many people who have this problem with the game, if you want something extremely challenging then I suggest you go elsewhere instead of complaining?

"Free flowing", in other words an interactive movie where you're just moving instead of thinking. I'm not the only one who has these problems, are you offended by my criticisms to personally attack me?

Personal attack? Where?!?! and it's far from an interactive movie, that's a stupid comparison. A game more worthy of that label would be MGS4. But then again that itself is a great game that was very well acclaimed, even more proof that you are very much in the minority with these criticisms. Once again, if an action/adventure game doesn't suit you, then look outside of the genre. There are a great many forthcoming RPG games that seem like what you're after.

None of the stuff I said would feel out of place in an Uncharted game. Basically, look to Tomb Raider for the easiest comparison of how this series is a nerfed version of that.

There are plenty of other action-adventure games that suits me, because they're deeper. Beyond Good and Evil, Zelda, Batman, basically any action game that lets you explore and has more mechanics than you can count on your hand. You can still have linear action-adventure and have exploring, look to Half Life.

Nerfed? Oh dear, haha. Not so much the absurd insinuation that Lara Croft's recent outings have been anywhere near as spectacular as in Uncharted, more the vocabulary :P

Well if you feel those games suit you then play them and stop wasting your time by criticising a much-loved GOTY contender? Uncharted is a very different game to Half life, BG&E (Please be on the Wii2 and not in 10 years time), Zelda or Batman. If it were to even take cues from those games I fear it would be worse for it. The Uncharted formula is a great one that needs nothing doing to it to be honest. My only fear is that they will overdo the series, which would ruin the charm for me.

Looks amazing indeed...my most anticipated game this year.

Batman deep ? I enjoyed the game but once I got a hand of the combat it was pretty much autopilot. Someone is out to denigrate I think ahaha.

what's wrong with that? aim of creating a game is to sell...games. if making it spectacular makes the game sell more than that's what they will try to achieve. don't like it? than don't play it.. it's just a game.

Why do people play a game? Or watch a Hollywood blockbuster? To relax, to escape from the world they live in. Not everything has to be 200% real or has to be a simulation of reality.
