Video Xbox One

Crystal Dynamics and Square-Enix sent us a good quality video of the 15 minutes gameplay presentation of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Many thanks to them, and also to Tomb Raider Chronicles for the info!

Shouldn't that be Microsoft's idea, if they want to promote their game?

Thanks!
Now all we need is EA's and Bethesda's PRs to acquire some common sense and send their high quality goodies to Gamersyde.

We thought the source was an official press site but it's from a fansite. Since we're not allbetagames we don't want to use it without their permission.

Looks ok, just hope its not full of QTE like the other one

I find it funny that Microsoft were saying this was a EXCLUSIVE FOR 2015 trying to make it sound like it wont be on pc and ps4 when infact it will just not in 2015 but 2016

Looks OK funny how much I thought it looked better when I couldn't see it well. I will say that the other environments in the closing trailer look much better.

Looks good but not great, but I found the first game to be pretty fun so I'll give this one a go. But it's like uncharted and other similar games, a very fun campaign but very little replay value based on being such a story driven linear experience. Which is why I think these games are highly over-rated. I think the Last of Us is the only game like that I could play several times. Maybe resident evil 4 as well. That's about it.

Looks ok, but feels like they're trying too hard to be Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us. No idea why they're not releasing this multiplatform off the bat, the last game sold better on PS3 and they've not cut their potential audience down to by 75%. Microsoft must have offered them A LOT of money for this timed exclusivity(?).

they're not stupid though, you can see by the vague wording that it'll be out on other platforms much sooner then we think (i'm thinking march 2016 if not earlier). they're not dumb enough to ignore that sort of install base.

I remember Microsoft said this timed exclusivity deal was similar to Ryse and DR3. And we all know on what other platform those games released. Time will tell, but i wouldn't get my hopes up too much.

they never were secretive about the exclusivity for those games though. there is a difference between ryse being revealed as an exclusive, which it was. and tomb raider being revealed as a "2015 exclusive" which has a "duration". if this was a full blown exclusive to MS in any shape or form, they would have screamed it at the top of their lungs. that would help sell consoles. the vague wording and refusal to clarify are clear signs its not an exclusive. you don't sit on a full exclusive like tomb raider and act like it might go somewhere else later. lol

i mean, was there ANY vagueness surrounding titanfall? ryse? DR3? once they where anounced as exclusive? they made sure everyone knew they had secured a big exclusive. like they always do. tomb raider is too big to buy-out. especially when it's A. more popular on playstation platforms. B. has a bigger association to playstation platforms and C. would be missing out on a much larger current gen install based on the PS4.

Why Microsoft spent so much on a timed deal for this game is baffling. It looks really bad, especially in comparison to other demos that came out of E3. Looks incredibly linear and full of QTEs. Tomb Raider should be the type of game that offers freedom, which Uncharted is now doing. It's going to get buried by Fallout 4 either way. Bad demo, bad release time. Last one was overrated too. Bought it on PS4 and sold it back the same week.

Tomb Raider just isn't the same anymore. Trying way too hard to be cinematic but failing miserably to stack with the competition.

Well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion but I can't see why being linear is a bad thing. Personally I'd rather have a linear game than any open world game with no story and ridiculous and boring sidequests. Tomb Raider 2013 was easily my favorite game of the year, which by the way I have played several times so the replay value for me is actually quite high.
This one looks impressive and I am sure it will be as good as the previous one. And please don't dare say that Uncharted is more open than this because TR 2013 was far more open than any Uncharted game to date and it also has far more variety than UC. And I love UC, mind you, but TR was better in every aspect.

he was talking about uncharted 4 being far more open then what tomb raider has currently showed.

I wonder when the PS4 release will come of ROTTR ? I own both XB1 and PS4 but I wonder if I should hold out for the PS4 release. After Christmas or maybe New Year 2016 is my guess. If Crystal Dynamics leave the PS4 / PC release too long they wont be able to justify full price.

The XB1 version will come down in price pretty fast like many new games after a few months so the PS4 release has to be comparable in price to XB1 or PS4 customers wont buy it new.

It is possible there will be a marketing incentive before November 10th for XB1. That is, buy an XB1 console and get ROTTR for free or very cheap. I saw a similar offer for Witcher 3 when released on PS4.

Lara must be getting some training from Batman and Sam Fisher now.

I thought the last game was the one where she "rise'd". It seems like they are doing this origin thing like Nolan did with his Batman films by making her believable, gritty etc. We know who Lara fucking Croft is, CD. You don't have to reboot the character whilst depriving the fans of the series of what they want to see, which is less action, more atmosphere, and more TOMBS! Christ! We might have to endure this shit to get to that kind of game in the 3rd instalment, where no doubt they'll name it "The Tomb Raider".

Looks very much like a continuation of the formula of the last game. I will keep my eye on it. I thought the last one was solid.

I completed the last game. I cannot see how it was open at all or had anymore variety than an Uncharted game. I much prefered the Uncharted games though and think U4 looks quite a bit more impressive than this.

I thought this looked grate, not as colorful as Uncharted 4 or Horizon but it doesn't really need to be. As far as it's technical "wow" factor, it's got some. it's got nice lighting and shader detail. the skin also has nice glows and the face animations are much better than before. it's hard to be blown away this gen though after seeing so many tech demos being pushed out.

The infiltrator, and Agni's philosophy demos set really far out there bars to reach. no one is expected to reach those demos for a long time. this still looks pretty good regardless.

Seems to be. Which i find weird tbh. I guess they have the problem of establishing gameplay features in the "first" game that are kind of required for the sequel but make very little sense for a more veteran explorer...like why the fuck is she relying on a self made bow again? i expected some sort of progression and development as she becomes less and less like an annoying brat and more and more like the good lara we're used to. But That doesn't seem to be the case so far.
