Game looks fun enough I suppose but my god that voice acting is painful at times. Awful dialogue and ridiculous one liners much more forced and cheesy than the original games.

Too effin' true. The game looks good and looks fun, but that is some of the worst dialogue I've ever seen. It's not the fault of the voice actors that the dialogue sucks ass. But it is their fault that they're terrible voice actors. I may play this game on mute.
Well it looks slightly better than I expected it to, but I hated the terrible voice acting. "You're done", "Take that".... really? I guess I've been spoiled by the genuinely entertaining dialogue in Uncharted 4 lately.

Gears was never about incredible dialogue or story. I think there's room for a game that is just big, dumb, and fun, which Gears has always been.

the problem is they try. if that's all they want to be, go full-on like bulletstorm was. i mean, the whole maria/dom dying thing was some of the cringiest stuff in this series, and it was because they stopped being dumb and tried to be something more.

Oh it was still dumb, just not on purpose anymore. Believe it or not there are people who enjoy the stories and characters in these games though, so they must have done something right.
