A very poor cousin to Heavy Rain, in my humblest opinion.

They don't really have that much in common to me

And it figures that at least one fanboy comment had to mire an otherwise perfect thread.

Alan Wake looks awesome, and if it is anything up to the standards of Remedy's past games, it is certainly a day one purchase.

Thanks for the video, let's find out why 360 fans get so much excited about this game.

It will be nice just for this game to finally come out. I mean, how long has this taken? :o(

I remember being impressed with the earliest footage of the game...despite not really knowing what the game was about. But then year after year, I became less interested, and I couldn't help but wonder why other people were so jazzed.

After seeing some actual gameplay...I still don't know why people are so excited.

Yeah... that's what happened with Max Payne too.. Still, it was a huge hit. I won't bother waiting, I'll just expect it to be really good when it's done. :)

I certainly hope it's good, but I can't help but get an Alone in the Dark vibe from it. Also, monsters disintegrating like that is lame.

Heavy Rain seems to be more like Fahrenheit.
Alan Wake is more like a slower paced Resident Evil, in my observations.

I love how the flashlight burns the enemies, and how the flare did the same, god that was some amazing lighting effects.. So many games have great graphics but mediocre lighting effects, but this game really feels warm :)
Great colors, great lighting.

Pffft. This may share similarities with Alone in the Dark, but the difference in quality is like day and night.

Nothing like heavy rain though is it. Far as i can tell heavy rain is very scripted..QTE driven gameplay.

Alan Wake allows you full contol, and is supposed to offer an open world for you to progress the story in. Including dynamic weather. So when you consider the visuals are pretty much on par with heavy rains thats quite impressive
