Video PS4

As E3 is closing its door, we just received from Sony the extended gameplay demo of Days Gone in good quality. The open-world action game from Bend Studio is set in a world decimated by a global pandemic. The game's story takes place a couple of years later in the high desert of the Pacific Northwest and you will control Deacon St. John, a former outlaw biker turned Drifter/bounty hunter. The title features a "free-form" gameplay, allowing you to explore and play your way. Developed for PlayStation 4, no release date yet.

I saw a lot of people comparing this to Dead rising 4 and naming them rivals. Is it just because both have zombies? because to me they look completely different. Days gone is a serious survival game while Dead rising is over the top goofy fun. Personally im glad that they are so different. Variety is always good

one of my top games of E3. it's sadly still a ways off. but i love what i've seen so far. never seen a horde system like that in a game before. they move like fluid like they did in that terrible brad pitt movie.

Fantastic trailer. The gfx, settings everything looks great but the gameplay did nothing for me so far. But I think this can be a good game.

I'm pretty lukewarm on this. Is that all you do in this game? Run from the horde, and use little traps to kill of chunks of it? Meh.

Its only a portion of the game and you know it. If that is the case, abandon all hope for Sea of Thieves if its E3 showing is anything to go by. Obnoxious actors will be screaming in your ear for the entire game.

Like The Last of Us or Half Life 2, this game more than likely has massive tone shifts to the point where, when you go up against humans or hordes again you will forget they existed in the game. Like in Half Life 2 when you go to Ravenholm, with your time there, you forget that enemies exist in the game with guns. :)

I wonder is this game using Naughty Dog's engine too since Sony Bend worked on the ND engine before with Uncharted Golden Abyss.

I must have missed the Sony Bend logo because I was getting some refreshments and when I came back I was thinking, man this could be Last of Us 2. Then I saw the horde of Zombies and thought okay, different direction and then I was relieved.

Will get my Zombie fix from DR4.

I don't know man. They chose to show this section as their big reveal... that means this is probably what the game is. I'm sure there's more like side quests and shit but the core gameplay loop leaves a lot to be desired. Also, how many magazines of ammo does that dude have stored in that jacket :D

really? you honestly think this is all there is to the game? the game clearly had an infinite ammo cheat on too for demo purposes. it was to show off the horde tech...and that's about it. this wasn't even a story mission. it was a bounty hunt.

Like I said, the core gameplay loop AKA the selling point of the game. That's what they showed, why else would they have shown it? Like you really thought Sony thought "Oh hey, for this game that nobody knows about yet, lets show them a side mission that has nothing to do with the real gameplay, lets have our first impressions be of that!"

No, of course not. This is what the game is. And it looks super fucking dull.

There COULD be more to it, but they didn't show anything to lead me to believe that so I'm just judging it based on the E3 gameplay. If they're really trying to sell us on "hey look at how many zombies are on the screen, isn't that special?" Its already been done before, many times. What is UNIQUE about this game? All the impressions I have read are preaching similar concerns.

I'm not sure, why in this demo, there are no empty casings flying out of the weapon. These were present in the previous video.

They said there are more types than the horde, human enemies were confirmed as well. I ve read some interviews and there are a lot more exciting aspects to this game than what the demo showed. One thing that im not sure though it seems they might tweaked the ai to not hurt you for the demo

Apparently they have some sort of connections with epic and thats why they decided to use UE4. Also they said its a heavily modified version.

I'm not sure I get the hype with this game. It looks interesting if only because the last of us was so good in a similar setting but the combat looked very canned and almost silly. Mowing down that many zombies seemed very silly and anti climactic to me. I'd much rather have a game where the zombies posed a bigger threat than only when in massive hordes.

So far it did nothing to me . Weapons lack power and they sound terrible. Zombies react to damage like they are made of foam. Hopefully they will make it much better, I really like the setting and overall vibe but that's not enough.
