I like how you can make it into an action RPG now (even though its not fully real time).
Its faster, cooler and various stylish of attacks which makes me happy and might consider getting it.
The combat in the first one was boring as hell, too slow, and all the attacks was swing right to left until they died, meh.
Anyways, with so many turn based RPGs out, I am glad Bioware made something for us action fans to enjoy as well, thank you!
I just need to see a proper gameplay video of the console version for the controls, if it was as good as this video, day 1!
Also Korn, Bioware games not so great in visuals, performance, and gameplay? Strongly disagree there. Kotor looked great visually when it first hit last gen. Jade empire also looked great when it first hit..and its performance was fine (i dont recall framerate problems anyway). ME visuals..again great when it first hit, performance on the other hand... ME2 however nailed everything. Great looking visuals, flawless framerate.
All of them had great gameplay.. they wouldnt of got very far if they played like shit.

jade empire was a bare bones brawler with very little depth to the combat (the core element of the GAME)
mass effect 1/2 are both mediocre shooters compared to stand alone third person shooters. you can tell the game is based entirely on behind the scenes "dice rolls" making the combat feel weak. then we have the amazing gamplay of scanning planets. everyone loved that didnt they...lol
KOTOR was the same. combat felt weak becasue it was all determined by stats and lvl. dragon age falls into this problem too. there is no connection in combat. if just feels like your character has an animation, and the enemy has one, but they never connect in a way they should.
visually they hardly pushed boundaries either. they're middle of the road looking games, par for the course. typically with issues ragarding framerate or texture pop-in. character look plasticy, facial animation are pretty lacklustre, even loot isnt all that great in bioware games. typically offering only handfull of armour sets and items. i only play bioware games for thier stories and characters. if you stripped them away you would have an incredibly mediocre game in whatever genre they would fall into. ME without it's story, characters and interaction would be a painfully boring and generic third person shooter. same goes for KOTOR, dragon age and jade empire.
but i'm fine with that. because i go into a bioware game knowing full well that it's story is what is going to keep me playing, not the gameplay. in fact, in most cases. i find the "gamplay" section in their games more a chore then fun. i try to get through them as quick as possible to get to the next conversation, becasue that is what they do well.
and yet depite these shortcomings ME1 is one of my fave games of this entire generation. and easily my fave bioware game. it had crappy shooting mechanics, it had repetative vehicle sections and random planets, it had terrible performance (framerate, vsync, pop-in) issues and it didnt look all that nice graphically, even for its time. yet it still is a game i LOVE. but that's entirely down to the story and characters being amazing. the rest i could have honestly done without, but then i supose it would just be a point and click adventure.
Far from mediocre gameplay, things get hectic and awesome with tons of enemies trying to flank you going after you that you have to make strategies if you want to survive.
Talking strictly about ME2 here, didnt play all those other games well I did played ME but when a game has that many stuff on screen that suddenly everything dissapears and I end up death for a reason I dont even know because it became a slideshow well I cant speak about gameplay in a game like that.
