Images PS4

Bend Studio has shared over twitter (so don't blame us for the image compression) two screenshots of the PS4 Pro version of Days Gone and it definitely looks better.

2 screenshots (PS4 Pro)

Looks nice. I might actually pick PSPro up if the games do look as advertised.

Did you see the Digital Foundry remarks? "Traditional gaming media simply can't capture and communicate the quality of the imagery I saw today, as there's no real way to showcase HDR meaningfully."

People should go in electronic stores and check for demos on hdr tvs if it's available so they can have an idea.
I myself am happy they made this step not for the dynamic of the picture, but for not having to adjust my tv/games everytime i change source/medium/application.
The tv is supposed to adjust itself to source instructions.
I haven't made the 4k step yet since my tv is fine but the next i get will be HDR ready.
It will be cheap by then.

I love how so many people who weren't at the event are crying and moaning about the Pro whereas everyone who was actually at the event and was able to see live demos seem to be reasonably blown away. Just goes to show you can't judge a book by its non HDR capable cover.

A lot of impressions are based off of bad internet streams even. I'm waiting for slightly better comparisons.

then i guess its cool that if you already own or plan to buy a HDR setup, you don't need to buy a new console to take advantage of TV capabilities. Buyin' a console, with the same games as the last, mostly just for that is dire.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks paying an extra £50 (the PS4 1TB retails around £300) is a steal to play frostbite games, The Assassin's creed games, Final Fantasy XV and who knows what else in a state that doesn't make your eyes bleed (sub 1080p should be added as an eighth sin).

I actually see existing 1080p TV holders gaining the greatest value out of the PS4 Pro, the super sampling whilst not native 4K MAY even produce better visual fidelity than on a 4K screen as the PS4Pro doesn't output native 4K but uses some devilry to achieve 4k.

HDR is the real swing for buying a 4K TV and it is an advantage that sounds generational but even without that what you get for an extra £50 is unbelievable. Before (for less) you could build a PC that could easily outperform a PS4 I don't think the same can be said now with the Pro and its tricks and when you include all the convenience of console gaming it sounds too good to be true. I think this may actually be the first console in a long while that isn't noticeably deficient.

isn't? it asks you to pay roughly the same you had paid three years ago, for the same game portfolio platform, with the power advantage of a Nintendo gen upgrade, wich in itself is pathetic hardware upgrades.

If there was an upgrade program like some people had said... like 200 bucks to upgrade, sure. I mean, some bought a console a year ago or so.

I doubt they're worried about converting existing users.

They don't need to market it as a new platform. Retailers will up-sell for them.

I'll always say it and its proven over and over. Many gamers are some of the dumbest consumers. I just need to find a way to make money off of them. Sony and MS sure have figure it out. Even with the interenet, its unbelievable what some gamers actual think and believe. Amazing.

At the event they showed Days Gone switching to night time in realtime sped up. If the game hase a day to night cycle present then it may be a lot more of an openworld/mission based game than other offerings like The Last of Us.

Its full on open world, the devs said that multiple times. They also talked about how the game is very systems driven as well.

No one is saying your wrong many of the elements I praised I expected in my PS4 but they were not existent, now I'm getting the PS4 I wanted. Businesses being greedy and not dependable is no news but to get a device that ticks almost all my boxes is rare.

I could curse Sony or I could judge the console for what it is, the latter makes me satisfied and excited. I mean my jaw dropped when I played that noctus demo never has such a good looking game been so hampered. What I saw wreaked of a game that ultimately would need to be heavily compromised just to perform decently.

Every Assassin's creed and most frostbite games stink of the same disappointing compromise, 900p really is an eye sore. Finally I can get the original promise of a stable 1080p gaming machine. Here is my upgrade programme I will sell my PS4 which will go towards the pro and that's that.

Pre production I guess. I'm talking actual production. They've taken a long while already and I'm pretty sure they said there's still a lot to do in interviews following the reveal. I'm thinking early 2018

Very clean looking exactly what i want to see from a 2016 games console, The IQ for the vast majority of PS4 games now is horrid this new machine was badly needed.

Trying to see HDR on an SDR tv screen is like trying to see HD on an SD tv.
Not gonna work.
These pictures aren't HDR either.
