Baldur's Gate 3 hits Early Access

The anticipated RPG Baldur's Gate III from Lariah Studios released today into early access on Steam, GOG and Stadia. The build lets you play the first arc which is about 25 hours of content on top of the extensive character creation system and its 16 races and subraces and 6 different classes and their own subclasses.

the character models are downright gorgeous. the life(like) animation is kinda subpar on the western/bioware levels of good enough (for a robot).

I've always had Balder's Gate on my to-play-list for ages now but never got round to it. I have played Dragon Age Origins and loved it and have been dying for a true sequel which never came as Bioware has now fallen from grace.

From the gameplay footage so far, this seems like a spiritual successor to Dragon Age - which is ironic as Dragon Age is sort of the spiritual successor to the original Balder's Gate games.

I've never played Baldur's Gate, even back in the day. Is this a turn based game, or action based? I'm not fond of turn based. Last time I was 'ok' with that was the original Final Fantasy 7. I grew very bored of it shortly after.
