Video Xbox 360

At Cannes' IDEF we had the opportunity to try out the Forza Motorsport 3 bucket seat that was presented at the entrance of Microsfot's booth. After missing it at E3, we could also finally drive a few laps on the - beautiful - El Camino Viejo track. As usual, the following video runs at 60 fps. Consider this as a warming lap before Le Mans, coming next.

Thanks for the vid!

Is it me though, or is the cockpitview in 30FPS? where as the rest of the video with bumpercam-view is clearly 60FPS.

Yeah, as far as I know, cockpit view does drop the FPS down to 30. everything else is 60.

How can you tell? its only on cockpit view for 2 seconds at the beginning of the video!

the 30 fps was just to keep things things smooth for the preview code it should change for the final release.

Though i wish forza would make their tracks wider it feels like their tampering with scale to keep the impression of speed higher, ie. narrower tracks=greater sensation of speed

Holy crap, look at those reflections, even reflect the other cars.
Would like some sound though, even with show floor sound its better than none.

Cool vid though, thx.

Indeed, it is 30fps at the moment, this has been confirmed.. T10's target is that this will be 60fps for release, so we are going to have to wait to ensure it's been met!

I do like some of those mountainous backdrops, a bit too pretty perhaps, they might actually distract you!

It looks great. But it feels sooooo emty around the tracks. No crowd at all. I appreciate the 60fps (think its really important in racers), but I still miss all the stuff going on around the tracks in other racers. Hopefully this is fixed in the release version.

Yeah i would also like to have some wider tracks, the only track in FM2 that was a bit wider was Silverstone, it would really be nice to have some wide tracks like Malaysia, Fuji, Bahrain or Turkey, because they are great for overtakings and it's so fun when like 3-4 cras can drive together on the straights and fight who will get into the croner first.

I would love to have Spa in FM3 but im pretty sure that wont happend, it's very dissapointing that FM games have very little tracks from F1 or europe, most of tracks are American tracks and to be honest they have one of the most boring tracks of all racing tracks, shame i hope it will be in GT5 then at least NFS Shitf has it but i think this game will be to arcade.

I wish FM games would have tracks like GT games, imo GT guys choose far better tracks.

Btw this vid looks awesome, love the graphics, smoothness and the sense of speed.

Im sure you couldn´t really tell the difference (2 secs of cockpit view in that video...) but you had to bring out the issue somehow :P

Yeah what's up with that? The majority of tracks are from Japan and USA. Forza 2 had Mugello, Silverstone and The Ring and that was it. But GT4 was even worse! Just Sarthe and The Ring. Ok, Monte Carlo can slip in there as a circuit track, just to get the score even between F2 and GT4.

But there's so many epic circuits that haven't been done by these console simulators. Spa (ok GRID had it, but GRID is hardly a simulator), Monza, Hockenheim, Imola, Valencia, Bathurst. The list just goes on and on. I'd rather trade 50 fantasy tracks for one, proper Grand Prix configuration.

Just got home and watched the full download (not streamed) on a much larger monitor, and it's very impressive, Blim/Snoopers, you guys take pride in your stuff, and it shows, those are the best captures by far!
And T10's efforts are really shown off well here, the reflections and detail in the rear view mirror with those amazing vista's are very praiseworthy even if they haven't nailed (intentionally or not) the ultra-realistic look.. Of course there are things that need improving, but it's too early a build to really start major criticism!
I can't wait to see the Le Mans one now!

Although it's still far from photorealism, the game really looks the part. Some bits in the environment look a bit odd at times...but overall it's looking really good.

I really wish they'd add an option for motion blur though and add a little depth of field, it really would make the game look significantly better. Other than that, can't complain!

Well a subtle motion blur at 60 fps would probably look awesome but DOF? I can't stand shooters that force some depth of field on me that I don't like to see, I can't see it being better in racers. It's annoying, looks ugly and very unnatural.

I notice a lot of gamers (mainly PC gamers) share your point of view. I however, really like me some depth of field. Guess it's a matter of preference, but I have the feeling PC gamers mainly dislike blur and depth of field effects more than console gamers...(correct me if I'm wrong though).

Lets be VERY CLEAR here. Turn 10 Stated at E3 Cockpit view will also be 60 FPS before the game is released. But the cockpit view currently runs at 30 FPS as it was the last thing added to be optimized.

OT: This gameplay video is pure epicness. It looks so damn gorgeous. Best graphics in any racinggame gameplay by some way. The cars look just like the screenshots. Watch as he gets along side the Lambo, it looks identical to the screenshots of the cars.

SPEECHLESS.

Very nice, those have got to be the best reflections ever( first time I've ever seen the other cars reflected). I also like the more scenic track- hopefully there are many more like this. It is pretty amazing what they have been able to accomplish considering the crazy speed of calculation going on. I applaud them on putting the physics first, and then making the graphics so great!...

Graphics look awesome, the reflections off the hood are by far the best i've ever seen in any racer, it really does reflect everything at 60fps... amazing.

Oh and the backdrops... wow, they look incredible, the draw distance is ridiculous, i really cant believe how much detail has gone into this track.

e.g. PGR 4 also had it in hood view. But I have to agree, the quality (detail and frequency) of the reflections are awesome.

I love seeing the A.I. making mistakes and actually racing against each other instead of creating perfectly British queues. (The Porsche also races like crap :P)

Very nice ^_^ graphic look awesome:) Gameplay have a 60FPS and cockpitview in 30FPS. But actually I don't care about cockpitview in 30FPS because, We can't play at that time. They dosen't have to made it's 60FPS. But I'm not sure, How much FPS in replay mode? Thnx for the video(but no sound) ^0^
