Why the PS3 game descriptions are always "beautiful" and "fantastic" and the Xbox ones get the random, cold ones?

This looks great but come on... it's been in development for 2 Forza's devs times and this never gets mentioned.

it also has god knows how many times the cars, god knows how many times the tracks, has official licences from WRC and nascar, and they're adding damage (evident in this trailer in fact) the reason it's taking so long, is so that there isnt any REASON for a sequel this gen. they're trying to create the ULTIMATE racing game. and so far, they look to be on track...now if only it had nitro, arcadey handling and monster trucks, maybe i'd care. guess i'll just play more motorstorm instead.

This might be a better version:

I knew PD would shush the GT5 bashers from yesterday.

They shouldn't be "adding" car damage. This is something you make from scratch for the game. This is why they're delaying - that's the word - this game so long.

^quality before quantity my friend.

ps2 only got 2 main titles of GT as well, so technically they are still on the same dev cycle.

Doesn't show much, but looks good of course. And Korndog, I don't think having a series like NASCAR is something to brag about. It'll earn you laugher most of the time.

Looks pretty good, between this and mind-blowing Forza 3 I'll be in racer heaven for the next year I just wish the GT series would let you mod the cars more like Forza did.

The big factor will be doing away with the "bumper car" physics from the GTp demo. If they fix that, this game might just be as good as Forza 3, which will make me really damn happy.

I've never seen Korndog say anything but wild praise for Sony exclusives. Not hard to figure out...

This trailer was a pretty big kick in the balls of Turn 10 claiming Forza 3 would be the definitive racing sim of this generation. I mean I loved Forza but come on, it doesn't even come close. Can't wait for this.

I think Greenawalt (from Turn 10--Forza) just go served. This game definitely looks better.

Well as I said in the other video, as of right now yeah, GT5 does look better.

What are you falling for? the biggest marketing tool for racing games? Or worse yet, this video?

I dunno... while esthetically and veriety-wise GT5 has an advantage, Forza has a much more complex and dynamic physics system and better online community. You really notice the physics difference it if you play forza 2 then gt prologue back to back. I guess the final game may take care of these two aspects, and if it does then it will be the ultimate racer but i'll beleive it when i see it.

what marketing tool? You mean looking at video of the real game vs. pre rendered video? GT5 has its equal graphics wise and its far behind in features and gameplay. Gran Turismo is done.

Sorry, marketing tool = Dan Greenawalt.

You must be out of your mind to believe that is gameplay footage.
It is CG + pre rendered.

I dunno, I don't think about whether or not I like the guy who made the game when I play it. I'm just looking at that prerendered trailer and I don't see how you get that it looks better than Forza.

You mean Gran Turismo? yes that's what i'm saying. that's prerendered. The Forza trailer that says "actual gameplay" or the one that's on this site right from the show floor? Not prerendered.

nothing makes you doubt the potential of a GT game. no way. even the year old London gameplay video far surpasses Forza 3 or anything else. this IS going to be the greatest and most beautiful racing game ever, what they are adding:

-Dynamc weather effects
-Real physics damage
-500+ cars

that's totally untouchable.
and no, Forza 2 was nothing but an experiment in the creation of Forza 3. they basically released half-completed Forza 3 caliing it Forza 2, so no, this does not make 2 Forza games in one GT5 creation time. moreover with NASCAR and WRC Licences, GT5 is becoming something transcendental to racing games on the whole.
I bet real-time weather change alone is going to make several pants wet ;)

wow can people hold their horses

There was no in game in this trailer and GT always use diffrent boosts like more AA in Photo mode. Maybe we should wait until someone atcually has som gameplay to show from GT5?

Fuck are you working for Sony?

Kick this PR gut out. "Real physics damage", yeah right and Forza 3 is not? get out of here. You looking at a non in game trailer only showing 1 scene of damages and you are allready jerking off like crazy. Sony fanboys are truly the easiest to please. "we could still make briks and call it playstation and it would sell" really fits here.

No doubt that GT5 will be huge but hold your cannon. Even with damage they have a lot to fix compared what they gave us in GT5:P to even be close to a great simulator.

Actually, like the Forza 3 trailer it was in-game but had touched up AA. GT5P looks really close to that believe it or not just with less AA and some flickering textures.

CG textures look better:

I don't doubt those are the real models, but running at a way higher resolution with far better AA and lighting. Still - that's not the real game and you can't compare it to real game shots from forza. both have bullshot trailers, if you compare the way GT5 actually looks toForza, it compares very well.

Even though this was a trailer with no "real" gameplay in it, I'm in wuv. Based on Prologue alone I know the game will rock my socks off. <3

As I have both a PS3 and a 360, I'm looking fwd to this and Forza 3. However, thus far, like GT5P, the environments look a bit bland and spartan, aside from the excellent "wallpaper" backgrounds of Sky (and Mountains in GT5P) that they stick in there to spruce them up a bit. The immediate, track side stuff, is all pretty bland. Daytona in GT5P is embarassingly bad, and it doesn't seem to have improved. As always, the car models are fantastic though. This trailer looks to be mostly CGI with some gameplay from Suzuka, Tsukuba, and Daytona. I prefer the realistic lighting and colour palette of GT5, but I think overall Forza 3 is prettier.

Hopefully they'll have sorted the triggers properlly for accel and decel this time around. In GT5P they only worked through half their travel making them pretty much on off switches. If not, I'll have to buy a wheel. Maybe an excuse to get the Fanatec to use with both GT5 and Forza 3 though.
