We guess Sony had reserved for the next game created by Fumito Ueda, genius father of brilliant Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, a special place in their pre-E3 press conference. It was not counting on leaks, these little annoyances that can tear down your most ambitious plans at the last moment and make appear, just by magic, your most confidential trailers on good old Youtube. In the case of "Trico" (temporary name), a one year old video that can't represent the current state of the game's development. However it offers an insight rich of promises. For one who loves Ueda's creations, "Trico" looks like nothing less than a miracle.
Update: As much as I love this video, it doesn't belong on Gamersyde. You can still see it as it has been posted on youtube inside. If you want to download it, there are many ways to get a video off youtube ;)

Commented on 2009-05-20 04:10:26I wonder how far they are into development because some of the textures seem odd or if it is the youtube quality.
Commented on 2009-05-20 04:10:43It looks very interesting at the least. I cant be excited unless I see some actual gameplay tho, so I know if ill even like it
Commented on 2009-05-20 04:11:49Can't wait to see some more. Shame it was leaked thou', it would have blown the roof in Sony's E3 presentation..

Commented on 2009-05-20 04:17:35Only problem, Ico and SotC are both short and really only have much of an impact on the first play through. Neither game was very excited the second time playing.
This is why games like Halo or CoD 4 sell better, not only b/c they are shooters, but b/c they offer an insane amount of replay value. I played CoD 4 for so many hours it's crazy, but I know that no matter how charming and creative this game ends up being, it won't offer very many hours of great gaming, no matter how special those few hours really are.
I love and want these games in the marketplace, but I'll never be able to get uber hyped for them like so many hardcore gamers that spend far more hours talking about how great they are than actually playing the games.

Commented on 2009-05-20 06:06:44Visuals look solid indeed. Not nearly to the level of thinking it's a CGI (like many, surprisingly think) but still looks good.
Commented on 2009-05-20 06:20:12Can't wait to see what the final game will look like. Plenty of time till then...
ICO: Fighting small shadow monsters
NICO: Fighting huge colossus
TRICO: ... you have a giant monster as a pet... I can't even imagine the scale of the enemies we'll be facing heh.
BTW... anybody else thinking... Never-ending Story? :)
