Mentioning Asimov, you know there is a film adaptation planned for End or Eternity?
I digress. The game itself looks damned good. If it turns out to be anything as off the beaten path from most jRPGs as Valkyria Chronicles has been, then we could have another winner on our hands. It's tri-Ace and not SEGA in-house, and tri-Ace has been hit or miss, so far this generation, so I am not holding my breath. But who knows. If SEGA actually takes to doing their jobs as a publisher and offers some real insight (from over two decades of making some of the best jRPGs on the planet) and a guiding hand, perhaps together, the two companies can pull a rabbit out of their hat. The state of the jRPG has been almost deplorable this gen, and in dire need of someone pulling a rabbit out of a hat to modernize the genre and get it back on track. And the closest thing we have gotten that goal, has been Overwork's Valkyria Chronicles , putting a modernized spin on the classic, Japanese strategy-RPG formula. So maybe there is some hope they will share the same magic with tri-Ace on Resonance of Fate.
As always with every new jRPG announcement, I'm keeping my fingers crossed in anticipation.
(counting seconds until the Japanese defense force arrives to explain why there's a difference to this gray and other gray games.
Seriously though, it looks alright though the character design is a bit boring.

Last picture reminds me with a city in FF7 (Medgar i think)
Lost Odyssey, Last Remnant and even to an extent Star Ocean went out of their way to flirt with us, this is just next in line. Check out upcoming Tecmo shooter Quantum Theory for the most embarassingly blatant attempt yet.
It's ironic because meanwhile we're doing stuff like Team Fortress 2, Battlefield Heroes, Borderlands, Prince of Persia, et cetera that all try to move towards a more stylized visual personality. It's like we're switching places. Trends are funny.
