Page 1 2 ... 5 6 >>Well I hope we get some movies because these screens doesn't justify much, way to much motion blur so this still pictures doesn't look good at all.
I am not saying anything about what either console is capable of, but certainly creating a game with just one in mind, makes a better finish which this agme doesn't have. As beautiful as RE5 is, you can still tell it has low poly models.
Maybe it's just budget restraints. But it looks a lot worse than I expected. Especially Sazh face.

.
I cant see anything wrong with the animations to be honest from the low quality videos I have seen. Let's wait for the HD and then we can judge, shall we ?
EDIT: just saw that the videos are now available. Will post back
I think it's pretty clear what you mean here but whatever. there are multiple platform games that kick the ass of one platform games in the graphics department.

Ah well, I hope Versus will be real time like Crisis Core or Folklore.
The character also, are just not how I was expecting them. I just think they aren't very high poly models. They aren't low-poly, just not what I was expecting from this series.
But I will stop now, cus I know I shouldn't say anything if I haven't got something useful or positive to say. And I fully understand if some of you don't take too kindly to it.
Turn based, no!

Just watched the video ... AWESOME just fantastic. Love it. looks very very good and animation is spot on not sure why people think there are problems.
Cant wait to play this bad boy!!!

I can see what you mean regarding the animation not being as good as the one in CG but what do you expect really. no game can achieve CG animation standard anyway.
If I wanted to play turn based I would play chess.
I hate the fact I can't control my character and their attacks rather relying on menus, meh.
I am more into real time combat because that actually takes timing and skills to beat your opponent and not scrolling through a menu all the time and just watch aimations take action.
Ah well, I gave the genre a shot with LO and I got bored quick, so noturn based for me.
I am hoping for Versus to be real time, if that doesn't happen...whatever.
You can say negative things all you want dude. it's your comment about the game looking like this because it's multiplatform that triggered my reply that's all :)

And the point is the animation themselves aren't that good. Not to typify but they look kind of like low-budget games' animation. Not Final Fantasy. And the reason I brought up multiplatform, is to make sure I wasn't being misconstrued as a butthurt fanboy.
I don't think it's anything to do with console power, just creating a median that suits both console, and that the animation and modelling isn't high-spec like I imagined it would be. Something more budget/time related than hardware related.
Sorry Alimo, but turn based not "FTW", its boring.

But still, this kind of thing is what the fans want and square delivers. If they made FF play like ninja gaiden they'd alienate half their fanbase :P

Well I guess I expected consistency. And when I play other mo-capped games, generally all the action is mo-capped, not just cutscenes. That is outside of CG.

They really need to change the running-animation when you're blocked by a wall. Looks so retarded when the character stands running in front of some obstacle without moving.(Something that is common in japanese games)
Characters also do not face enemies in battle. They stare in the wide space which also make them look retarded.
Dont get me wrong, I seriously love the FF series, but I can't satnd seeing such good games beeing crippled by easily removable flaws.
... as I mentioned above, please bear in mind that this is the December 2008 build ... a lot will improve ;)
Looks great. Love the graphics the music, the battle system looks quite fun too. Got me hyped up.
I do have concerns with the frame rate, particularly in the in-engine cutscenes, they seemed to drop quite often into possibly single digit figures which is never a good thing. It took the edge of TLR for me in its fights and it could do the same here.
FF on the PS2, certainly what i remember of X and X-2 the frame rate was pretty solid, but here the first REAL in game footage outside of a specially edited trailer is choppy, never a good sign.
Graphically it looks great, I am not ready to make that call yet but it seems like the best looking game from a japanese developer so far this generation. Or one of the best. Battle system looks fun, but I get it the actions in the demo are heavily limited (no summons, no items) and I am not particulary a fan of that music, but I guess it sets the tone.
Anyway, thanks for videos. Overall the graphics were the highlight of that demo for me, visually the game looks spectacular.
