Xbox 360 PS3

Electronic Arts released this new trailer of Fight Night Round 4, putting the spotlight on the new physics engine in the game. Quite impressive, I must say.

That glancing blow looked awesome, especially the way the glove rippled.

Still looks robotic, every punch looks so telegraphed. I guess it would be too realistic if you couldnt tell when the punches were coming though =/

@TheFuriousOne: That's the same issue i have with Round4.
It looks so slow and... undynamic ? Never played Round3 myself, but i think Round3 played a bit faster than this one from what i've seen in some videos.

does look robotic admittedly, but nowhere near as much as FNR3, and hell apart from that, it looks amazing.

I wish they had used white boxers for this video, it's way too dark! It highlights the unfortunate lack of dynamic lighting, I hope there's someway they can implement it before it's released.

Simply incredible...

The feeling the animation are not quite there is given by the incredible realism of the models. The eye is fooled into seeing something "real" and this highlights all the little imperfections. Animation is a bit behind graphics now, and this will be the biggest problem new generation engines will face imo.

They're claiming in the video that this is faster. From what I've played of 3 and have seen of this, this is easily the faster of the two.

Black characters always look better in video games.

The video is really dark and one of the boxers is really dark skinned so it's hard to see some of the details. That's why I said they should have used white boxers, either that or they should have picked a ring with a brighter background and have brighter lighting on the boxers.

By the way, anybody else think that EA should make a sequel to Budokan using this sort of engine? It could be awesome if done properly, one of the best fighting games around!

Just checked back on the videos and you're right. This one plays slightly faster than Round3. If only they had improved animation work a bit further. I'm still undecided whether to get this or UFC Undisputed. They both look great !!

UGh, I can't stand Mayweather. He may be a great boxer, but I just can't stand watching that pompus prick... although, if he was in there(although I doubt he'll agree to give up the rights) he'd be the one I beat up on to get warmed up every time I play, he, he...

I'm willing to bet that the "robotic" look of the punches that people are complaining about in this is going to be even more evident in the UFC game...especially with regards to the grappling.

Don't forget, renting is always an option. Spend $10 and try them both out. If you need to buy one, get the one you enjoy more.

I know, that was the logical progression from boxing to hang-gliding over the boxing stadium and doing awesome dynamic entrances. Like in Medal of Honor: Airborne. Get this feature in, EA! lol
